The American Dream is what everyone has an idea of. In The Great Gatsby they show you what it's really like.Being in the spotlight all the time it’s a hard life.Sometimes it brings out the worst in people showing their true colors.

Additionally Tom Buchanan Cheated with Mrs. Wilson. To Gatsby being shot for her death by her husband. “It doesn’t matter anymore.Just tell him the truth---that you never loved him--and it’s all wiped out forever.” Page 132 The love triangle where in the end only two would be alive.

In view of conflicts man vs man is most noticeable in this novel. “Daisy! Daisy! Daisy!” “shouted Mrs.Wilson” “I’ll say it whenever i want to! Daisy! Da---.” Page 37 I think a big conflict is Tom’s affair but also the fact Tom wont leave Daisy. A lot of this novel is the love triangle between Daisy,Tom,and Gatsby. Many of the conflicts deal with this. I couldn't find a lot of man vs nature. Most of them were man vs man or man vs society which was a lot of people only using Gatsby.

Lastly, Tom Buchanan who Married Daisy but is cheating on her with Mrs. Wilson. To which Mr. Wilson is married to her while Daisy is in love with Gatsby. Nick is the one who tells everyone’s secrets and shows how they truly act towards others. Daisy,Jordan, and Myrtle are obsessed with money and being the star of it all. Gatsby just wants a true friend and to accomplish all of his future goals. Mr. Wilson and Nick are hard workers who don’t come from money.

Daisy says in the novel “It makes me sad because I've never seen such—such beautiful shirts before.” The shirts represent wealth also how rich Gatsby truly is. Another example of a symbol is “ hastily joins the railroad and runs beside it for a quarter of a mile, so as to...where ashes take the forms of houses and chimneys and rising smoke and, finally, with a transcendent effort, of men who move dimly and already crumbling through the powdery air.” This is the Valley Of Ashes which represents death in the novel it's mentioned only a few times. Lastly the green light is Gatsby’s hope for a future with Daisy. In this quote it almost feels a if she doesn’t care. “"I waited, and about four o'clock she came to the window and stood there for a minute and then turned out the light".

Overall,Between the love triangle to becoming a wealthy man from nothing. The Gatsby teaches so many little lessons to everyone who reads it. The Great Gatsby also has so many twists and turns in it.
