Over the years, schools teach the same history lessons. How slaves were transported, Who sailed the ocean blue, and how the light bulb was created. What really needs to be taught is Race Theory. Race Theory has served as a tool for exposing racism for 20 years (Critical Race Theory, 1). Teaching Race Theory in schools will better educate students and prepare them to face society like adults. Race Theory will also better educate students on the different ethnic groups and how to properly address racism. This shows how classrooms can properly address racial issues going on in America. Racism is a very huge problem in America and needs to be addressed in schools to better prepare students for the future.

The main value of Race Theory is to teach students early about racism. Teaching Race Theory is important because it helps students learn empathy and sensitive topics about other races. It also gives students the chance to look at other court cases and situations that deal with race. Students who study racism look at how policies and practices in education contribute to racial inequality (Sawchuck, 5). This will help students get a better understanding of race because it teaches them how to handle these situations in the real world. Kids learning about other racial issues in the world and other policies can help them understand that racism is still a real thing. As stated before, racism is still a huge issue in today's society. Therefore, students should be taught Race Theory because it helps them understand other cultures and ethnic groups.

In addition to teaching Race Theory in schools, another reason it should be taught is because it can bring racism to light. In most schools, not all issues involving race are brought to light. Acknowledging racism is a normal feature in society and is embedded within systems and institutions (Janel, 2). When teaching Race Theory, it can teach students and teachers how to include other races. Teaching Race Theory won’t only teach the students, but also the teachers. This can help the teachers include different cultures in their classroom teaching without them feeling excluded. Students of different races and ethnicities sometimes often feel excluded whenever there are classroom discussions. The Race Theory Lesson can help teachers to make their classroom environment safe for all cultural backgrounds.

The chief outcome in teaching Race Theory is giving cultural students a safe space. This will help students with different cultural backgrounds feel safe about their beliefs and ethnicity. "The way we usually see any of this in a classroom is: 'Have I thought about how my Black kids feel? And made a space for them, so that they can be successful”, (Sawchuck 8). According to this statement, teaching Race Theory will give kids of different backgrounds a chance to be more successful. Some kids who have different cultural backgrounds often hope they have a place where they can discuss their ethnicity and situations they've dealt with due to their race. Race Theory will give kids of different cultures to share their stories and feelings of the challenges they face due to racism. It also educates other students and teaches them about different cultures. When teaching Race Theory in schools, It can shape the lives of students and teachers and help them become more aware of different issues of race in the world.

In conclusion, this essay has discussed major points as to why Race Theory should be taught in schools.
