Twenty percent of Americans stayed loyal to British in Revolutionary War and also, Boston tea party didn't occur once, but twice. The revolutionary war was one of the most significant historical events that occurred in US history. It was the war in which Americans fought for their liberty from the British. 13 colonies united and gained independence from the British. There were numerous reasons why this war occurred. Many people argue whether this war was avoidable or not. After gathering evidence, it is concluded that this war was unavoidable because of the immense amount of tax on American colonies, tensions between colonies and British, and both sides' willingness to fight.

The first and principal reason why American Revolution started was because of the enormous tax on American colonies. After the war between France and India, unpopular taxation policies began. British governments had a very expensive war-fighting halfway across the planet, having to convey soldiers to America. According to History.com, it remarked that “but the expensive conflict leads to new and unpopular taxes. Attempts by the British government to raise revenue by taxing the colonies (notably the Stamp Act of 1765, the Townshend Acts of 1767, and the Tea Act of 1773) met with heated protest among many colonists.”(History.com Editors, 2009) This evidence shows that the British made several kinds of taxes to restock the lost money from war and boost revenue by taxing the colonist. Of course, the colonists were unhappy with these massive taxes from the British. This was the first event that led to the American revolution because if the British didn’t tax American colonies much, there wouldn’t have been any later conflict that led to the Independence war. So taxes on colonist was one of the main reasons that caused American Revolution. control

The second cause of the American Revolution was tension between American colonies and the British. As Americans became more and more exasperated with the British because of taxes, the British tried to hegemonize the Colonies more. As a result, the colonies started to revolt against the British with events like the Boston tea party. According to History.com, it mentioned that “Colonial resistance led to violence in 1770, when British soldiers opened fire on a mob of colonists, killing five men in what was known as the Boston Massacre. After December 1773, when a band of Bostonians dressed as Mohawk Indians boarded British ships and dumped 342 chests of tea into Boston Harbor during the Boston Tea Party" (History.com Editors, 2009). This evidence is fundamental because it shows the conflict between colonies and the British existed before the Revolutionary war. So we can infer that the conflict between colonies and the British was one reason that caused a revolutionary war. Following Boston Massacre, colonists rebelled against the British by the Boston Tea party, thus, impacting the relationship between colonists and the British. looking

While some people argue American Revolution was unavoidable, the war was avoidable. According to the sources of evidence, the conflict was inevitable because of the willingness to fight on both sides. For authentication, americaslibarary.com states, “crowd of jeering Bostonians slinging snowballs gathered around a small group of British soldiers guarding the Boston Customs House. The soldiers became enraged after one of them had been hit, and they fired into the crowd”(unknown author and date) Despite not being directly mentioned in the evidence, we can see that 200 colonists were mad at the British. They were more than ready to chuck snowballs at soldiers with guns. This event in the evidence shown above is known as the Boston Massacre. The Boston Massacre was used as a tool for the colonist. Colonists made it sound like the British massacred dozens of colonists and spread the news while only three people died. Also, after examining the evidence from History.com, it claimed, “The Sons of Liberty, a radical group, decided to confront the British head-on. Thinly disguised as Mohawks, they boarded three ships in Boston harbor and destroyed more than 92,000 pounds of British tea by dumping it into the harbor." and "The Coercive Acts, which closed Boston Harbor until restitution was paid for the destroyed tea.”(History.com Editors, 2019) As a result of colonists rebelling against the British, they made colonists pay for a tremendous amount of money they lost, yet this only made colonists more unhappy with the British. Tensions between colonies and the British could tell us that war was inevitable and was soon to begin. The conflict was unavoidable in the end because of the willingness to fight on both sides.

American Revolutionary war was unavoidable because of unfair and heavy taxes on colonies, tensions between colonies and British, and huge money spent on the American colonies. All problems started to begin after the French and Indian war. British was a rich country, but sending troops halfway across the world at that time was incredibly expensive. The colonist didn't need the British anymore after the war. British, on the other hand, wanted to take control of America to raise revenue. The American revolution was not avoidable.
