After reading the novel, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and watching the movie The Chronicles of Narnia : The Lion. The Witch and The Wardrobe I detected the plethora of changes to the setting, characters and plot. Everything that was viewed, heard and watched was different in the film than the text. They each gave a different experience and description of the plot using characters, setting and mood.

One difference was during the final battle scene with the White Witch. In the film, the witch can be seen wearing the reminiscences of the lion. However, in the novel she is said to be wearing "White fur up to her throat, and a gold crown on her head (Lewis 31)." This altered my experience because in the movie, her wearing of the lion can be seen as her thrive for power, once she's "demolished" Aslan's reign. And this being excluded from the read can cause a lack of the witch's character.

Another difference found in the feature was the visual description of each scene. The film was able to provide a descriptive setting using visuals : special effects ,  music to set mood, and visual emotion. The book however proved description using language and font : italizing, bolding, using parentheses and underlining important or emphasized ideas. An example is written below, " It was a sledge, it was reindeer with bells on their harness. He was a huge man in a bright red robe (bright as holly berries) (Lewis 106)". This changed my experience because while reading the novel, most of my visualizations were inferred, while in the feature I was given a precise description.

FInally, in the novel there was more detail and a slower pace. In the read, when describing scenery it was long and drawn out. For example, the description of Mr. Tunnus's cave : A place where the ground was rough and there was a scatter of rocks, with hills both up and down. And there was the questionable large rock which was the home of the fawn. Inside was reddish stone (for walls) with carpet on the floor and two chairs. (Lewis page 14-15). But in the movie his cave was announced with a quick glance. The feature also excluded certain scenes that were included in the book. This caused there to be less suspense in the film.  This depicts my experience because more detail allows a better comprehension of the story.

There were some differences revealed while reading the novel The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe in class and watching the movie The Chronicles of Narnia; The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. What was viewed, heard and watched was different in both the play and the read. This gave a different experience using characters, setting and mood.
