Abstract
In The Gaps Within Mental Health Coverage (Banks, 2021), we will examine the gaps in mental health coverage as it correlates but pales in comparison to physical care. Over 50% of American's go untreated for serious conditions. The case study was done by a selected group, and they were asked the same 10 questions, and the majority consensus was recorded as the results for that question. The piece focuses on the call to action, to champion mental health as a priority in the future. After the results I received, I want to be optimistic about mental health care coverage, but actions and results do not look too promising. Let us examine what the study revealed in the whopping results in the court of public opinion
Keywords: Healthcare, Coverage, Illness
Qualitative research was administered to find out in the court of public opinion if Gaps in Mental Health exist. Limitations consisted of age (21-55), and all other aspects remained open as this condition affects a broad spectrum. Although mental health is important because it is the nucleus of the body, there are some that would state that physical health is more important and should prioritize prior to making mental health gaps the focal point.
Mental health is equal to or more important than physical health, yet gaps of coverage still exist from the government to each home and culture given that “over 26 million individuals (about the population of Texas) experiencing a mental health illness are going untreated” (2020 access to care data, nd). There is a major gap between those that seek treatment and do not receive treatment, and the majority that do not seek help because of the roadblocks. Lack of insurance is only a small part of the problem, the same emphasis that a country puts on buying goods and sexual desires subsequently, the government should put the same emphasis on this topic, to propel the population to prioritize this health property as it does everything else. It markets to entice us to buy.
Would you say that mental health is not prioritized the same as physical health?
Is your doctor's visits count higher for physical health or mental health?
Do you agree that the government should do more to help the growth in mental illness?
Would you seek mental health treatment if it were more affordable and accessible?
Do you find that you feel depression, because of the inability to treat and cope with the mental illnesses that may loom?
Do you feel down more down when you feel that there is no hope?
What priority is mental health to you?
What priority does your government place on physical health vs mental health?
How do you cope with the lack of care for mental health?
Have you seen proper marketing to support a shift in care for mental health?

Inferences made from the results: Most do believe that the government and us are to blame for the lack of care and priority in mental health.
