Imperialism had a huge impact on our world and was the primary reason our countries and leaders are the ones and ways they are today. Imperialism was an immoral occurrence for many individuals and the economics of the world. One main reason that imperialism was a cruel experience was that there was an extreme loss of freedom for the natives. The second source was because many lives of people that didn’t deserve to be lost unfortunately passed away due to the brutality of imperialism, finally the empire-building occasion was correspondingly a main cause that WW1 occurred due to the power the colonies obtained.

Imperialism caused a great loss of freedom for the citizens living in the countries being imperialized. They lose their freedom in countless ways such as having no say in what they want to believe or the live way they desired to be by their religion. The effect of imperialism and no freedom led to slavery and British invaders forced the native people from that area to keep creating the resources they had been, but for the British to label as their inventions and ideas. If a native person was to speak their opinion and the British did not agree or a local individual would not listen to the British leaders, they would be killed or kept in brutal slavery. No freedom was a large reason as to why imperialism was a terrible event that happened.

During imperialism, many lives were lost, this was an unfortunate occurrence and harsh ending to many human's lives. During Imperialism, 50 million lives were lost.  In the time-space of 1885 and 1908 Belgian King Leopold killed 8 million people. R.J. Rummel, a University of Hawaii scholar put the 20th-century death toll attributable to colonialism at 50 million. As stated in the slide earlier the main reason for native's deaths was the reason that they voiced their opinion or refused to cooperate with the rules and expectations that the British colonizers were bringing into the country. This is a brutal reason why imperialism was a bad event in history.

Imperialism had a massive impact on World War 1 and a huge motive as to why the war occurred. Because Britain and France had expanded and taken over so many empires there was a lot of risen tension between European countries. Taking over all these empires meant that Britain and France were the most powerful colonies around the globe. As the British and French colony grew it caused lots of opposition between empires such as Germany, Austria, Ottoman and Britain and France leading the triple alliance colonies to become allies to try and take down the British and French empires causing World War 1 to befell.
