When the news comes on the people are so shocked about how every time something comes on, it always has to be so negative.  Negative news is always on everytime we change the channel, and also on social media, there is always something happening in the world today we can never get a break from the negativity. Many people who are watching the news or who are always on social media are sick and tired of the negativity that is going on today and should know the effects of what is going on. .

Letting people know the bad news is letting people know how bad the outcome will be. An article entitled “The Psychological Effects of TV News.” emphasizes that “any potential negative outcomes of a story no matter how long the risks of those negative outcomes that might be. (Psychology Today). So, letting the bad news be known to the world no matter how bad the story is that we should know the negative risks of what the outcomes may be. If people are exposed to the negative news every day your psychological and mental health can degrade and have your feelings in disbelief. An article titled “What Constant Exposure to Negative News is Doing to Our Mental Health,” discusses that “exposure to negative and violent media may have serious and long-lasting psychological effects beyond simple feelings of pessimism or disapproval”. (HUFFPOST 1).  If you are exposed all the time to negative news and violent news your psychological health can be very serious and long lasting due to the fact that your feelings are in disbelief.

Whenever people watch the news our moods can change in a snap of a finger because of what is happening in the world. An article titled “ What Constant Exposure to Negative News is Doing to Our Mental Health'', discusses that ”However, we internalize the negative stimuli, which can affect mood and cause one to feel more negatively towards the environment more broadly.” (HUFFPOST 1). People express themselves in many different ways so the media can play a role in their behavior in many ways and they can recreate what they see on TV.  Watching negative news can affect the way you believe in certain things and how you portray them. In an article entitled “Impacts of Media on Society: The Sociological Perspective.”, discusses that “If by media effects, we mean that exposure to the media changes people ‘s behaviors or beliefs, then the first task is to see weather significant correlations exist between levels of exposure and variations in behavior or beliefs”. (The Sociological Impact 3.) The media can change how people feel on what they believe in and their behavior so the first thing to do is to see if their behavior has any correlation on what is going on in the world today.

The media does not make any specific changes but it reinforces existing conditions of either state or affairs. An article entitled “Impacts of Media on Society: The Sociological Perspective.” discusses that, “However, if by media effects, we mean that the media do not generate specific changes but rather reinforce the status quo, then empirical demonstration of media effects becomes near impossible.” (The Sociological Impact 3). The  media does not change specifically it just reinforces the quote that demonstrates how media effects become impossible. It is difficult for the media to know the role it plays on when people's behavior has changed due to the negative news. An article entitled “Impacts of Media on Society: The Sociological Perspective.” discusses that, “It is difficult to know what beliefs people might have espoused but for the media's construction of a normative reality, and difficult to know what role the media plays in the construction of those needs and desires which in turn motivate viewers to engage with the media as they are rather than as they might be.” (The Sociological Impact 3). It is hard to know what peoples beliefs might have been adopted due to the media's construction of a normal reality, and it is also hard to know what role the media actually plays in the construction of needs and desires which also motivates the viewers who are watching to engage in the media as they should.

Your Psychological health can be affected, your moods can change drastically, while watching negative news people's behaviors and actions can change. People need to know the outcome of what happens when you watch the negative news. It is difficult to know what beliefs people might have espoused but for the media's construction of a normative reality, and difficult to know what role the media plays in the construction of those needs and desires which in turn motivate viewers to engage with the media as they are rather than as they might be. Television Networks, and social media who tend to show negative news should know the effects of how it affects other people.
