As part of a community, we feel part of something bigger than ourselves, it allows us to be in contact with people, to achieve our goals, to feel safe and protected. As humans, we need a sense of belonging, and this sense of belonging is what connects us to many of the relationships we develop. It is linked to early America because it helped create a system of a judicial branch and law to help the community. This is important to this day because it’s a path that leads to success and not over empowerment (rebellion).

Community help society because it creates solutions, provides security, and demonstrates dedication. He finds out the truth. Community is part of everyday life and has a positive impact on members. While reading I discovered, “The air is precious to the red man for all things share the same breath, the beast,  the tree, the man, they all share the same breath. The white man does not seem to notice the air he breathes. Like a man dying for many days, he is numb to the stench. But if we sell you our land, you must remember that the air is precious to  us, that the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.” It describes how everything falls into place and that everything and everyone should be working together to make each life a lot easier. I uncovered,” So when the Great Chief in Washington sends word that he wishes to buy our land, he asks much of us. The Great Chief sends word he will reserve us a place so that we can live comfortably to ourselves. He will be our father and we will be his children.” Both lines of evidence speak of landmarks,  respect for nature, and the community. It's all about trust. It is important to be part of the community for the same reason. When you are part of a group,  understand and compromise with other group members. Discussing problems involving the community helps generate solutions. Talking to other members improves social skills and relationships.

Miscommunication in society can lead to future problems. The crucible shows the struggle for trust between the justice system and its people. This caught my attention,” I never knew what pretense Salem was, I never knew the lying lessons I was taught by all these Christian women and their covenanted men! And now you bid me tear the light out of my eyes? I will not, I cannot! You loved me, John Proctor, and whatever sin it is, you love me yet!"( Miller 19). The Crucible has had its good and bad in the community, This evidence explains how it affects the community, being a Christian is important where you need to know all 10 commandments. This shocked me, “If Jacobs hangs for a witch he forfeit up his property—that’s law! And there is none but Putnam with the coin to buy so great a piece" (Miller 101). Everyone judges people on their beliefs or their right to free speech. Many people didn’t get the right justice that was needed and was all based on a fairy tale. Miscommunication in society can lead to future problems. The crucible shows the struggle for trust between the justice system and its people. It shows the struggles the lack of communication with one another which then leaves people to have to lie to have a good reputation to stay alive in The Crucible.

A good Father figure plays a big role in how I interpret a situation. For example, if I see someone struggling with school work I often try to lend a hand and step in to try to help them to the best of my capabilities. It helps me in becoming a better person and helps the other person improve in their weak areas. In the stories they affirm that it is important to have a community, to stay together, and to make your living space a safe place, not for others, but so that the community can stay together and never fall apart. The theme is about selection, creating a safe community for each individual. The American identity claims that everything is not secure until you make it your top priority.

As is evident in The Earth is Precious and The Crucible, early Americans relied on the importance of community as a way of shaping the identity of a developing nation.
