Men have proven physical advantages over women.  Imagine one day you have kids.  Your daughter is working super hard and trying to pursue her dreams in sports.  Then, she ends up getting beat by a man claiming he is a woman.  According to IHSA guidelines, high schools in Illinois don’t require surgery or hormone treatment to participate in opposite gender sports.  Therefore, men with blatant advantages can participate in women’s sports.  According to a study done by “quilette.com”, men have a physical advantage in almost everything except for pelvic width(6% less in men) and body fat(30% less in men).  Men also have better functional performance.  On average, they have up to 90% better strength in certain areas, they can jump higher, punch harder, and due to higher hemoglobin levels(red blood cells that carry oxygen), they have up to 50% more efficiency in oxygen transportation in any physical activity.  Finally, with all of these advantages, men generally are better at all sports.

It has been proven that trans women dominate sports.  There have been multiple cases of this seen especially at the high school level, where no hormones have been tainted.  For example, In 2017 and 2018, meaning not once, but twice, Mack Beggs, a trans woman, obliterated the Texas 6A 110-pound girls wrestling division.  Keep in mind, Texas has one of the biggest competitions for wrestling in the whole US, and the 6A class is the widest variety of wrestlers.  In short, this “woman” achieved a record of 89-0 and won 2 state championships against some of the finest high school female wrestlers in the country.  In the same 2 years, Terry Miller, a trans woman from Connecticut won the 55, 100, 200 and 300-meter events.  It isn’t very surprising that in a close second place was another trans woman, Andraya Yearwood.  These are only a couple examples of how trans women dominate sports.

Some may claim that with enough hormone treatment, it would be a level playing field between cisgender and trans females.  Although, studies from “NBC News” show that after 2 years of estrogen supplements, transwomen still retain an advantage.  They displayed a 10% advantage in push-ups, a 6% advantage in sit-ups, and a 12% advantage in running times after 2 years of estrogen.  A 12% benefit in running may seem small, but that is after 2 years of estrogen.  The IOC’s rules say you only need 1 year of estrogen to compete.  Imagine a cisgender woman runs a 6 minute mile, a supposedly small advantage of 12% for a trans woman would be 43.2 seconds faster.  How much faster would a transwoman be if they were on estrogen for half the time?

In summary, men have always been better at sports than women.  There is a reason why women’s sports and men’s sports were separated when they were first created.  It is simply not fair to make women work almost twice as hard to even have a chance against trans women.  The least that the IOC should do is require 2 years of estrogen therapy instead of 1.  As for high schools around America, keep male and female sports separated, women already have it hard as it is in sports.
