The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling Essay Sample

The book I read is the jungle book made by Rudyard Kipling. The plot is, how a human child known as Mogili will have to face a man-eating tiger known as Share Khan. This is resolved by taking down Share Khan and being sent to live in the village. This story takes place in a forest in India in 1894. where it is very overgrown with many creatures that live together in harmony and trees can grow 100 feet and higher! The main characters relate by showing Mogili at a young age how they took care of him and that they relate to him as his caretaker. They also work with each other by training together as well as hunting. I can prove that I read the whole story by knowing that King Louie is an orangutan and not a Gigantopithecus in the movie king Louie is a Gigantopithecus but in the book, he is an orangutan.  

I believe that the theme of the jungle book is to have courage and bravery. I know this because I found 3 quotes from the book. They state “Mowgli came by night, alone and very hungry; yet he was not afraid!" Another quote is “Have courage and step forward” and the last quote is “ A brave heart and a courteous tongue thee shall carry me far through the jungle.” From These quotes, I can understand they are either talking about bravery or courage. I believe the author chose the book title the jungle book because this book takes place in the jungle. The theme of the story was carried from start to finish because he had bravery and courage throughout the whole story. Mogoli issued the theme were having the courage and bravery even after the challenges he faced.

The Book I read was The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling and my opinion of this book was that I enjoyed reading about his life in the forest. The author did not fully develop the character. Since I read the first book and not the second book. The setting of the story was believable. the actions of the animals were not believable since the animals could talk. The plot of the story was very interesting and exciting but they did not fully solve the main conflict since I read the first book and not the second. I would improve this book by showing his whole life in just one book. I would recommend this to my friends since it was very interesting and exciting.
