The Middle Ages reflects the period of history in Europe between the demise of Imperial Rome in the West and the beginning of Early Modern Europe, often referenced as the 13th through the 15th century. This period in history is fascinating, interesting, and rich in the illustration of the development of the world. The viewer(s) of this website will enjoy the content because it contains real information in sections like authors, art, literature, philosophy, music, history, medieval women and lastly the bible. For those interested in learning about the Middle Ages; this website is rich with history as it offers a broad range of information about a very important era in history which should be taught in schools globally. The Middle Ages Online allows viewers to connect and relive the past, and make connections to different eras in history.

The archive pictures were very fascinating because of the realism and the materials used to construct these images. The Medieval Author’s section includes a wide range of talented names that have composed famous works. Without these great authors, this website would not hold up today because it would have less information and thus disengage the viewer. The Medieval Women section offers works that depict women during this era with images, books, bibliographies and resources that show the role of women during this great era. Lastly, the Bible offers different versions of its work in Medieval writing which depicts beliefs in scriptures which people read every day. These works depicted what the Medieval/Renaissance era was all about; which was preserving and honoring its works for the people to enjoy. 

Continuously, viewers have seen phenomenal works over the Middle Ages that show why this website is so rich in history; having more resources will provide viewers with an authentic learning experience. The Audio recordings provides a voice and point of view of the stories from the Middle Ages. This will help viewers get a better understanding of the texts and will assist people who have a Cochlear Implant (hearing device). The Journals include writings from famous individuals who wrote about their experiences. These journals provide an in-depth perspective of how people lived their daily lives. The section would be suitable to the viewer because of the amount of information and detail it provides. In addition to the Journals; there is a section called Academic Centers. This section provides colleges and universities where viewers can access more information about the Middle Ages. It highlights the colleges and universities that focus on the Medieval time period. The Societies section includes focus groups that center around specific information regarding the Middle Ages. There is a wide variety of groups from which to choose. The Conferences section deals with organizations that pertain to the Medieval Time Period which includes “tons” of information ranging from pictures to journals to discussions. The Libraries and Museums show the viewers where to access specific information of interest. These libraries are from all over the world. Finally, the Medieval Websites includes useful websites that are relevant to the Time Period. All these resources would be extraordinarily useful for anyone wanting to learn more about this era and its contributions to society. 

Having a strong website filled with essential information is paramount to the success of individuals because it leads to their interest in the subject area. The Middle Ages Online offers a broad range of topics that gives viewers choices of what to learn about. By offering a large variety of topics; this leads to more resources available such as pictures, biographies, stories, transcripts and multiple writings that brings the history alive and astonishing to the viewer. If anyone likes viewing medieval history; this website offers just that. This website should be recommended because of its accurate information and detailed analysis. 

Websites can be very informational to some, if not all, viewers, but if the website is not up to date; it will not be as reliable. This website has some minor areas that could use improvement. The website was last updated in 2017, regular yearly updates would be useful to hold the viewer’s interest and return to the site on a regular basis. An additional improvement would be having access to some of the resources like audio recordings and societies, just to name a few topics. The specific way in which access should be provided for societies is allowing individuals to join memberships pertaining to the subject(s) that spark their interest. This means individuals teaching others about the history of a particular subject. Lastly, by incorporating some new information on medieval History, it will help the viewers stay interested in the subject matter.
