Fate is something we can’t control it's our destiny some may choose not to believe in it But this story of two lovers proves them wrong. In the Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Many people look for whom to blame for the cause of their deaths like Friar Lawrence, the nurse, Romeo, or the rivalry. The truth is only fate is to blame for the deaths of these 6 innocent people. Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written by Shakespeare Two “enemies” fall in love with each other. When separated one cannot live without their lover, so they make a plan with many flaws. From the beginning of the story, they are destined to die at the end and nothing would be able to change that. These two teenage lovers are a perfect example of the right person wrong time they were all caught up in this chain reaction where everything was planned out.

From the begging of the story, these lovers are destined to die. The author chose this story To be this way and it was very clear that it was all fate’s fault no one did anything wrong but being stuck in this chain of death. In the prologue, it states, “From forth the fatal loins of these two foes, A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life.”(prolouge. 5-6). This shows the fate of Romeo and Juliet from meeting each other their fate was already predetermined. It also shows how there isn't going to be a happy ending.

Everyone in this story is involved with this whole chain of fate. It starts when Romeo and Benvolio come across peter who is looking for someone who can read a  letter of the people who are invited to a capulet party. Benvolio is a guy who likes to fight and convinced Romeo to crash the party but ended up falling for Juliet daughter of lord capulet. I know this because the text it states, “God gi’ go-den. I pray, sir, can you read?”(shakespeare 1.2.56).  This is when peter runs into Romeo and Benvolio and asks if they can read. He could had ran into anyone else but this is where it all started. It's not peters fault this is all just fate playing out the way it intended to.

Mercutio basically predicts the future with his last line before dying. This “curses” Romeo and Juliet. The text states, “I am peppered, I warrant, for this world. A plague o’ both your houses!” (shakespeare 3.1.92-93).  This shows how he has predicted both of their deaths and how it will hurt the capulets and Montagues. Right after he dies Romeo seeks revenge on his dear friend making him kill Tybalt which leads him to be banished from Verona. Friar makes a plan for them to live happily together but This was the main turning point of the story because after this everything gets worse and worse. It's just their destiny even if they had done some things differently their fate had already been decided.

In conclusion, fate had everything to do with this. You would have to be really unlucky for so many things to go wrong in one week. Like when Juliet's dad moved the wedding day a day before making it on a Wednesday giving them less than a day to get a letter to Romeo. Or when Romeo got to the tomb and drank the poison right as Juliet opened her eyes realizing what he had just done. If only Friar hadn’t left them alone in the tomb he could have done something but all these characters already had their destiny decided even if he had been in there some way or somehow they would have both died it was their fate.
