The Winter Olympic Games are a global sporting event that happens every 4 years it is held in many countries around the world. Beijing is hosting the 2022 Winter Olympics that is happening from 4 to 20 February 2022, In Beijing. The current population of Beijing is Twenty-One Million Three a Hundred Thirty-Three Thousand. The latitude of Beijing, China is 39.916668, and the longitude is 116.383331. It takes about 9 hours to get from Perth to Beijing.

A total of six bids were initially submitted for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Four of the bids were withdrawn by 1 October 2014, either because of the high costs of hosting the Games or the lack of local support, leaving Almaty, Kazakhstan and Beijing, China as the only two remaining candidate cities. Beijing was then elected as the host city, on 31 July 2015.

5. Beijing will be first to host both summer and Winter Olympics. One of the biggest sights in the city is the Olympic Park, built for the Summer Olympics in 2008. China's National Stadium, or The Bird's Nest, and National Aquatics Centre or The Water Cube.

Games

2871 athletes from all countries, are competing in the 2022 winter Olympic games only a small portion of those athletes are Australian being a team of 44. The 2022 Winter Olympics is happening from 4 to 20 February. The next Winter Olympics games is happening 2026 and will be held in Italy. The previous Winter Olympic games where held February 9–25 2018 the host city being PyeongChang, South Korea. 

The overall cost of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games is estimated to exceed fifty-three billion three hundred sixty-seven million one hundred sixty thousand au dollars, of which the majority was spent on infrastructure, a total of over twenty-seven billion seven hundred twenty-three million two hundred thousand au dollars.

Sport 

Since modern Snowboarding was established as a winter sport in 1965 it has developed various styles, each with its own specialized equipment and technique. The most common styles today are freeride, freestyle, and race. These styles are used for both recreational and professional snowboarding. 

Snowboarding is a sport at the Winter Olympic Games.  In 2006, the snowboard cross, was held for the first time. In this event, competitors race against each other down a course with jumps, beams and other obstacles. 

Snowboard cross was found to be the second-most dangerous winter Olympic sport, with 26% of athletes injured A helmet is essential for snowboarding, Helmets keep you safe from crashing in to snow, ice rocks, trees, or any other object out there on the course . Always wear a helmet to prevent serious head injuries. 

Snowboard is one of the newer events on the Winter Olympic programme, having been first included at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. But despite having only featured at six editions of the Games, snowboard has become one of the most popular and exciting sports at the Winter Olympics during the 2014 Sochi Olympics recorded an estimated Three Hundred Fifty-Four Million Two Hundred Seventy Thousand viewers.

Australia scoured 2 medels In snowbourding at the 2022 winter Olympics one of those 2 medels being silver the othe being bronze performing not to good at this sport this year . 

There were a total of 7 countries given gold medels in snow bourding related sports, 3 medels being given to USA and Austria the rest of the medels were given to China ,New Zealand, Japan and Czech Republic them only getting onenew gold  medel each.
