A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a Shakespeare story, a book about young relationships that take place in Athens throughout the book. This story was written a long time ago, but these relationships are very similar to relationships now. Shakespeare represents love in this book Hermia, a young woman living in Athens in love with a man named Lysander, Hermia is supposedly in love with Demetrious because her father thinks he's better than Lysander, Act l scene l  “You have her fathers love Demetrius. Let me have Hermia’s. Do you marry him” (line 92). You see at the start if the book Demetrius was falling for Helena, one of Hermia’s good friends, She grows jealousy over Hermia because Demetrius picks Hermia over Helena, he doesn't really have a choice to who he loves but this results in Demetrious and Helena fighting most of the time only because Helena thinks she has to be good enough for Demetrius. This relates to love now because it causes a lot of jealousy when your partner picks somebody else over you. Hermia and Helena were always compared between each other, Hermia would always be the more beautiful and fair out of the two. Demetrius picked Hermia. She got so angry and confused, she thought that she was being targeted but in the end she was just being betrayed.

The most toxic relationship that is portrayed in this book is Oberon and Titania, Oberon (The king of fairies) married to Titania (The queen of fairies), they are definitely have the most toxic environment with each other, but one particularly argument that happens in the book is when Oberon wants to adopt a little boy from India and when he brings the little boy home Titania is not very happy about the fact that he wants to raise the little blue boy but Oberon takes this very personally and finds a way to make Titania let him have the boy (line 180 - 185). When Titania was asleep he secretly casts a love spell on her, resulting in whomever she sees first when she wakes up that's who she will fall in love will, when Titania woke up she realized what Oberon had done  when she talks to him about it he makes a deal with her, if Oberon lifts the spell off Titania then Titania will let Oberon keep the boy. They already fought so much before but Oberon took a turn on this and he took it too far. I know that this relates to love now because this couple has really shown the true meaning of jealousy and betrayal.

Theseus, the heroic duke of Athens engaged to Hippolyta the legendary queen of the Amazons; there isn't any arguing with them in the story. They seem to be like a happy couple and don't really have problems with each other, I think that this is the healthiest and most normal relationship in the story only because we don't really see them throughout the book.

“The course of love never did run smooth” - Lysander. Although the topic of love and relationships happens through the book, the main topic of the book isn't love. When Shakespeare uses magic to create conflict and when he did he created different characters like puck to mix up these relationship’s, so you really have to focus on this between characters because there’s a lot of confusion in the book about that.
