In Winter Song, the author Tollet uses imagery, rhyme scheme, and alliteration to convey the poem's theme of love. Chitre's theme in Father returning home is about sadness, whereas Tollet's theme in Winter song is about love. The author Chitre uses structure, rhyme scheme, and feelings to convey the theme of sadness.

In the poem Winter Song, poet Elizabeth Tollet uses exaggeration to vividly portray the mood of love. In the poem winter song it says "What I would suffer for my love." The author is, dr saying she will do anything for her soulmate to show that she puts the love of her life on a pedestal. She will go through whatever life brings her just for the other person to be happy. Another example is "When the low sun withdraws his light". This means that Tollet is her soulmate even if they have some gloomy days. The sun's light represents happiness in life so when its taken away that symbolizes that life is getting more difficult and frustrating. The last example of imagery that Tollet uses is "The conscious moon and stars shall guide me". The conscious moon represents the good part of life even when it has you down. The light which represents happiness in life shows you that you can do this and can motivate her. Tollets light is her soulmate so it gets her through life when its not all sunshine and rainbows.

In the poem Father Returning Home, Dilip Chitre uses imagery to vividly portray sadness. An example from Father returning home is "Suburbs past his unseeing eyes." Chitre has so much tears in his eyes he see clearly. Using the eyes is a great idea because if you can't see clearly you cant think clearly. Another example is "His shirts and pants are soggy." Chitre does not care that his pants are soggy because he is so sad and detached from the world. He feels like there is no reason to care. The last example from the poem is "Man's estrangement from a man made world". Chitre is saying he is very detached from the world and from his own family that its not good at all. Chitre does not care though he just wants to be alone with his thoughts.

In Winter Song, Elizabeth Tollet uses repetition and rhyme to vividly portray love. The first example the author uses is the repetition of the word love. For example "wand'ring love, suffer for my love, faithful love." The repetition of the word love shows how important it is in the poem and to Tollet. If you love someone, you should not even have to think about if you will suffer for them, be faithful to them, and try to make them as happy as possible. Love is a commitment, not a temporary feeling. Another example is rhyming keep and sleep. In the last two lines it says " love the watch should keep, banish danger from thy sleep". The rhyming of sleep and keep is a clever wordplay on the author's part. Tollet is saying love gives people the feeling that they should protect there lover from anything while they are able to be at peace with themselves.

In Father Returning Home, Dilip Chitre uses assonance and alliteration to vividly portray sadness. An example of assonance from the poem is "standing among silent commuters." This creates a sense of loneliness for Chitre. He feel like he doesn't even stand out with all the silent people. He feels invisible to the public eye. An example of alliteration from the poem. "Suburbs sliding past his unseeing eyes". The father is not paying attention to his surroundings because of how sad he feels. This creates the fact that he is so far detached from the world that he is not even happy about returning back to his family such as his kids. Another example of alliteration from the poem is "Mans estrangement from a man made world." It shows that he feels like he is invisible but he does not stand out. Motivators always say everyone is special, but in this instance the father does not believe he is special. He believes he is a worthless person and has nothing to live for. Even his own children do not tell him things he would like to know.

In Winter Song,” Poet Z uses free verse and a passionate tone to vividly portray love. An example from the poem is it has no rhyme scheme. Prove and love do not rhyme so there is no rhyme scheme throughout the 24 lines in the poem. This shows she travel anywhere to see the love of her life also known as her soulmate. She will go to greatest depths of the world just so her love does not suffer.em is "Undaunted I thy arms". This shows she is not intimidated when facing any difficulties to prove and show her love of affection.

In “Father Returning Home,” Dilip Chitre uses free verse to vividly portray sadness. An example from the poem is there is no rhyme scheme. Onward and weak do not rhyme at all. Onward and weak do not even mean the same thing. I think the father believes that life is so confusing that it makes him sad and makes him feel meaningless. He feels like life is meaningless since he does not understand it. He can not go onward if he does not know what to do because he is weak. The last example is free verse because the poem only had 2 stanzas. Father returning home consists of 2 stanzas and 12 lines. This shows that he did not have a lot of words to say to make up for his actions. He feels sorry for himself but he needs to do better but no he just gives up on life and decides to be secluded the rest of his life knowing his kids hate him.

In the end Elizabeth Tollet and Dilip Chitre both had different moods in their poems to display a different theme or message in their poems. Even though they display different moods in their poems, they both used imagery to show the moods of each of their poems.
