Boredom is a state in which I find absolutely excruciating. I would rather tear my hair out than work in a compact 6x6 office. The monotonic repetition of a day’s work in an industry with a lack of entertainment and challenge is excruciatingly stale: wake up, work, come home, sleep, repeat. An endless cycle of ongoing nothings and pointless nine-to-five workdays - a video placed on loop for all eternity until bones grow weak and brains turn to mush. Floating through life, no drive, no passion, just work. Work, work, work.

The earth is constantly evolving - technological advancements, new discoveries, etc. Living on a high school diploma only opens numerous opportunities for futuristic lifestyles. Perhaps money is one’s main motivator or entertainment, a challenge even; whatever it may be - higher education (college) will extend the opportunities (such as jobs, career paths, etc) for those who wish to proceed in such directions. I find myself longing for a challenge. I would much prefer a stress-induced day to a dull, cloudy day - college, I believe will provide further options (whether one is sure of their career path or not, more opportunities are available).

When I was eleven-years-old, my cousin Josh dragged me with him to ‘job shadow’ his workday. He was a factory assembler for a telecommunications company in New Hampshire and as much effort as he tried as we assembled equipment, I was completely and utterly bored. I knew from that moment forward - I needed a challenging career that not just anyone can receive.

Growing up, I had always been told college was a ‘do or die’ situation - be successful or be a failure. While this I find absolutely false, I believe there are a great deal of pros to college than cons.
