Around 5000 people each year get diagnosed with als per year which is almost double the  the same amount of people in a large high school. That many families suffer from losing a loved one to this terrible disease In the novel ``Tuesdays with Morrie¨by Mitch Albom, Mitch, his prior student from years back, gets to visit Morrie Schwartz every Tuesday until he passes away discussing many things every week. It would be a very life changing time for mich during this time they discover many things about himself There are many themes talked about during the many Tuesdays they meet. But one of the main ones is people cannot live life without knowing how to die. In the first, second and 4th tuesdays this theme is very prominent.

The theme people can't live without knowing how die is demonstrated in the first tuesday in tuesdays with morrie. On the first Tuesday Morrie says,“Do you think because I'm dying, I shouldn't care what happens in this world?“ This shows that Morrie is still caring in the world even though he is dying. He is showing Mitch how to live even when his life is about to end. The final quote from the story says alot about the theme of Tuesdays with morrie. Morrie explains,“Yes. But there's a better approach. To know you're going to die, and to be prepared for it at any time. That's better. That way you can actually be more involved in your life while you're living.” to mitch. This shows the theme that people can't live without dying because Morrie is saying that death is the thing that makes everyone live closer. He is telling Mitch that death makes people more empathetic and closer to each other. Overall in this chapter it shows how death is not just death. It is the thing that brings people closer and it is the thing that makes people stronger.

On the second Tuesday the theme people can't live without knowing how to die is also heavily prominent. In a talk with Morrie on the second Tuesday Morrie says,”“Sometimes, in the mornings,” he said. “That's when I mourn. I feel around my body, I move my fingers and my hands–whatever I can still move–and I mourn what I've lost. I mourn the slow, insidious way in which I'm dying. But then I stop mourning.” This shows the theme that people cannot live without knowing how to die because Morrie is inferring to Mitch to be more thankful for the body he has and that he can still move and to never lose thankfulness for that. Introduce and state your evidence.

The last thing on the second Tuesday that shows how people cannot live without knowing how to die is, “considering I was flying seven hundred miles to sit alongside a dying man. But I seemed to slip into a time warp when I visited Morrie, and I liked myself better when I was there. I no longer rented a cellular phone for the rides from the airport.“ When Mitch says this it proves the theme that people cannot live without knowing how to die because when Mitch says this he is living his life better when he is seeing Morrie pass away slowly. Mitch is learning how to die from being with Morrie over all of these Tuesdays, therefore he is living better. Overall in the second tuesday it has shown mitch many things about death that he wouldn't have known without morrie.

Finally on the fourth Tuesday Mitch and Morrie talk about death and this helps to prove that people can't live without knowing how to die. On the fourth Tuesday Morrie says, “Everyone knows they're going to die,” he said again, “but nobody believes it. If we did, we would do things differently.” This strongly supports the theme because Morrie is describing to Mitch that if people believed they were going to pass away someday that their life would change. He is saying that people would do things differently and life would be so much more different.  The final quote from the story says alot about the theme of Tuesdays with morrie. Morrie explains,“Yes. But there's a better approach. To know you're going to die, and to be prepared for it at any time. That's better. That way you can actually be more involved in your life while you're living.” to mitch. This describes the theme and shows people how to know how to die. Morrie describes how people should be prepared for death any time. That way people would be more thankful and involved in their daily lives rather than being worried about what happened in the past or thinking about what's going to happen in the future. On the fourth Tuesday with Morrie, he talked about death. How to die, how to prepare for death, and how to live like it's the last. This chapter demonstrates the theme for this very reason.

There are many themes talked about during the many Tuesdays they meet. But one of the main ones is that people can't live without knowing how to die. In the first, second and 4th tuesdays they discussed how this is prominent. In the first, second and fourth Tuesdays, Morrie and Mitch talk about death and how people need to know how to die before knowing how to live.  Overall, people are never truly living unless they know how to die.
