Good morning, today I will show an alternative to a life of the 9-5 two week vacation life that is centered around a job where the only perk is the paycheck. Where you work for 50 years then retire with a bad back and that's if you live to be 75. Life is not a guarantee and having to spend it doing something you don’t love is a waste of time. Things like money, status, and power have no role and no place in the community. Money is a necessity now in the world and many feel it is such a need that it's more important than their own well being or those around the world. Things like jobs, money, and politics are all so commonly destructive in the world today and dictate so many decisions.  Pyrenees Promise offers a place where the main values are freedom, equality, identity, and community.

Being able to live without the weight of money is something very few can avoid. Which means that many choose jobs that they don’t enjoy or don’t have much time on their hands to do things they really love. 31% of Americans work the 40-hour week and 40% of American work more than a 40-hour week. Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S., affecting 40 million adults in the United States. The main culprits are work-related stress. At (PP) each member is asked to give 35 hours a week of some type of service to the community. These range from farming to financial advice, to knitting scarves for members of the community. The main thing is that everyone is doing something that they like and also get to help others. The goal in this is to reduce the problems money causes including stress, lower self-esteem, greater narcissism, less empathy, and more conflicted relationships. 

Education is what has moved the world forward and has caused so many amazing ideas and things. Education is highly encouraged and is required for adult members. Education is always available for every member ranging from ages 1-100. Being able to always have access to schooling and higher education is important because when you enter the community we want you to be an even better, healthier, and happier person if you ever do decide to leave. Each member will have access to Schools, libraries, and media centers. 

Family is important but not everyone is blessed with amazing home lifes and (PP) wants you to have a true home that allows you to be creative and independent. Being able to raise a child with a house, land, and know there is a school and supporting community behind you is a relief and blessing. Each member is allowed to choose a plot of land and build a home with their own preference and needs in mind. Though all budgets for housing are the same for each family it's ultimately your choice what to do with it. Of course accommodations throughout the years are available for elderly, children, disabilities, ect. Your land is also yours and what you do with it is up to you. (PP) also strongly feels that pollution is killing the planet and will do everything in its power to not contribute and try  and help others not contribute. Each building has solar panels and the community is powered on clean energy. All products are either recyclable, biodegradable, or reused. In hopes of helping the environment and those all over the world our community is an example that living cleanly and working to restore earth is possible. Technology is such a bug resource to help reduce pollution and being able to live in a high functioning society. (PP) uses high technology in many all the community used buildings that help make life easier and require less manual labor. Using technology to do more jobs that are generally unwanted like unloading trucks, sanitation, construction ect. Is all done mainly by technology and if it can't be done we would hire outside assistance in those fields.

Politics today in the world are not always in favor of the people and can cause so much pain and harm to millions of people. Taking away status and political power is what makes each member have a voice, an opinion, and a way to make a change. Laws are set in place to protect and ensure each person’s basic human rights, well being, and each person’s happiness. When laws are not followed by members a decision is made and voted on by members and if it seems the law is unjust then it will be changed. Laws are not meant to last forever and must be able to change as the times and as the situation requires it. There are not very strict rules since through the screening and initiation process you really see people as who they are as a person and if they are well suited to the community. 

The screening process in joining the community can start with filling out a simple form and seeing how your lifestyle needs and personality fit the community. If passed this stage one might be asked for an online interview and eventually be asked to visit the community and possibly stay. After a trial period the entire community will vote and if the vote is 100% in favor they may stay. If 80% or more they get to stay on probation for another month. If  less than 80% they will be asked to leave. Only 3 people can be on probation at any given time, and people can’t join at the same exact time. The max capacity is 300 people with 150 houses over all the land owned by (PP). All houses are built and there are about 80 houses with 180 members. 

(PP) is an Oasis in the Great Pyrennees mountains where hundreds of people can lead a life free from the shackles of society and live in a community that cares and wants people to love themselves and live their life in happiness. Thank you for listening
