Do you think wars should be stopped?Wars have been going on for 13,000 years now, and when the word war comes up negative thoughts come on your minds. Our minds start with death, destruction, explosives, danger, hate, anger, guns, bombs, and many more negative words. Wars have so many negative effects on our world that they should be stopped. Wars ruin the peace of the world; everyone just becomes a different person. Some worry about their families and some are determined to destroy the other nation.War is not a way to solve problems between each other because it always ends with death and destruction, promotes hate between the active nations, and there is no winner.

To begin with , war isn’t a way to solve problems because it always ends with death and destruction. For instance, “The casualties suffered by the participants in World War I dwarfed those of previous wars: some 8,500,000 soldiers died as a result of wounds and/or disease.” Wars ruin so many things, it is always left on the soldiers .No one thinks about those soldiers who also have families and loads of responsibilities, who are just like us and risk their families and lives to win a war.Not just lives of innocent people, but wars also destroys their homes, their towns, their cities, their castles, and much more. For example, ““During the Thirty Years' War in Europe, for example, the population of the German states was reduced by about 30%.The Swedish armies alone may have destroyed up to 2,000 castles, 18,000 villages and 1,500 towns in Germany, one-third of all German towns.” Is winning over an argument that important?Wars cause families to separate from each other, innocent people to die, people's homes being destroyed, cities and towns getting burned with explosives and nuclear attacks. This is one reason why wars aren’t a way to solve problems.

To continue, wars aren’t a way to solve problems  because it promotes hate between the two active nations. As an illustration,  “Muslims stuck in India wanted to be in Pakistan, and Hindus in Pakistan wanted to be in India. Sometimes, hostile neighbours made the minority’s lives so miserable that they fled. Millions moved that summer. Angry mobs killed exhausted and vulnerable refugees as they tried to cross the new border. A million people died when India and Pakistan started life as independent states. It was a terrible beginning.” This represents that with the past experiences of them with each other has promoted hate between the two nations. India isn’t letting Pakistani’s go to Pakistan and because of that Pakistan isn’t letting Indians go back to their country which causes them to hate the other nation. Being a citizen or being a part of the country and going on war with another nation makes the people hate their opponents because of them they have to go through the hard times and lead to making enemies. This proves why wars are not  a way to solve problems between nations.

Lastly, war is not a way to solve problems because none of them win or lose. If one nation wins, they lose at the same time because the winners also lose lives and money. If a nation loses, they lose people, money, and the argument. So, either way they went in loss.To support this, “The United States spent more than $20 million fighting the Seminoles. The war left more than 1,500 soldiers and uncounted American civilians dead.” This proves that even though the United states won the First Seminole war against the seminole Indians of Florida they lost so much money and so many lives. Instead of having a war and both nations going in loss they could have negotiated and solved the problems. Another evidence to support this, “ In 1860, the year before the American Civil War started, the U.S. Government debt was $64.8 million. Once the war began, debt grew quickly. The financial cost of the war was significant, totaling an estimated $5.2 billion.” Spending this much money on wars.” The United States spent so much money to win the war and after the war ended they tried to find ways to pay off the debt. Wars do give nations benefits and get them what they want and what they fought for. However, it also makes you go through hard times to get the money you spent back and get more soldiers and the important lives of people that die. Is it really winning or losing? This is another reason why wars are not a way to solve problems.

Conclusively, this is why wars are not a way to solve problems. They end with death and destruction, they are promoted to hate, and neither of the nations win or lose. Putting all these reasons and many more negative impacts of wars, it’s time for the change for wars to end for the world to be a better place. One war brings much more and they make this worse. The war to end all wars!
