What is justice? What makes justice? What makes something justified? Those are all great questions. Justice can be something that no one will ever agree on, yet it's something that will always be needed. Today I will be comparing my definition of justice to my interviewee, Leah.

This Interview was done on September 16th, 2021 at 5:43 pm:

“Leah, what is your definition of justice?”

“Um, I don’t know, I guess… the guilty party getting what is do to them for doing wrong.”

Leah believes that justice is about the guilty party being punished. I’m sure many people would agree. I partially agree with Leah’s statement. I believe that justice is about the people who were innocent getting what they deserve. I believe that they should get to seek the punishment out for the guilty, and (If doable and deserved upon actions) I believe that requests should be considered an/or done. This is very similar to Leah’s statement, but I believe that the innocent person(s) should have a say in what happens.

I believe that justice can’t be served unless the victim(s) of the actions feels satisfied with the outcome or can somewhat agree with said outcome. They are the people who need justice. They are the people who went through that experience or experiences and they deserve to know that the person responsible was punished.

These statements are similar because both Leah and I agree the person(s) guilty should be punished. These statements are different because I believe that the victim(s) should get t0 have a say in the guilty's punishment. Leah did not say whether or not she agrees with my opinions. And that is what makes them different, yet similar.

In conclusion, Leah and I have a similar opinion on justice, but not the same. We both agree that the guilty person in question should be punished for their actions. However, I believe that the victim should have a say in said punishment. So, we have a similar idea on what justice is.
