“Who was George Washington?” you may be wondering. Well, I’m here to tell you about George Washington. I will also be telling you about the roles he played in framing the country we live in, known as America. Washington did many things for this country in helping to “set” everything up. As you read, you will learn more about George Washington and what he did for this country.

 Let’s start by taking a look at where George Washington was born and where he grew up. George Washington was born February 22, 1732. He was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia. His parents were Augustine and Mary. Washington was the oldest of six children. All six of his siblings survived to adulthood. Washington belonged to a somewhat wealthy, middle class family. Washington’s family lived on Pope’s Creek in Westmoreland County, Virginia.

What important early experiences did George Washington have? Well some important early experiences that George washington had include, was that his family lost their land, slaves, and wealth. They were lost under the Puritan government of Oliver Cromwell. These were all things granted to them by Washington’s grandfather, Lawrence Washington. Lawrence Washington migrated to Virginia in 1657. That is one of the important early events in George Washington’s life.

George Washington was one of the founding fathers of the United States. Washington bravely led the constitutional army to victory during the Revolutionary War. As we all know, we face problems every single day of our lives, it's part of being human. George Washington was no different. After swearing the oath of office in 1789, Washington faced many challenges, domestic and foreign. One of these challenges is that he had to create the presidency. There were many potentially big consequences. If he messed up, Washington could bring the government crashing down in a way. Many people believed that the new system of government would collapse into monarchy as that was what new governments usually came to in that time frame. From the doubts of people to the stress of creating the new government and setting a foundation for presidency, Washington faced many challenges just in terms of leadership.

Think of your favorite famous person, they more than likely have a quote that is famously associated with them. For George Washington, one of his quotes was “Be courteous to all, but intimate with few.” This goes to show how wise Washington was. He knew you should be kind to the general public but you should only let your walls down with a few people that you can trust and that you are closest with. George Washington was a man who had many careers in his lifetime.Here they are; in 1752, Washington became a plantation owner after In the year 1755, George Washington joined British General Edward Braddock’s army and was ranked colonel. In 1774 Washington had served as a member of the first constitutional congress. He became one of Virginia's delegates in the year 1787. After the signing of the constitution, Washington was elected as the president of the united states of america. George Washington then lived the remaining few years of his life as a farmer after having served two terms.

The history of the world would be drastically different had George Washington never lived. He had set many foundations for the country we inhabit today. He set a foundation for presidency as he practically had created it himself. He also led the constitutional army to victory during the Revolutionary war. He also was one of the framers meaning without him the entire constitution we know today could have been skewed. It's hard to imagine where we would be as a people had George Washington not lived. 

If being the first president, a soldier, a farmer, a delegate, a member of the first constitutional government wasn’t interesting enough, there's more to George Washington that may intrigue you. Considering all the things he has done, you'd assume Washington would have a somewhat high education however, he had nothing higher than an elementary school level education. Washington’s first lover was actually his friend’s wife. George Washington was not only America’s first president, he was also its first mule breeder. 

We all have our own opinions about people. What about George Washington? Well, as odd as it seems, washington was popular among his people until his presidency. While traveling to New York, Washington had thousands of people who literally followed him along with a firework show when he arrived. However, around the end of his second term many people had begun to dislike George Washington and even neglected to wish him well on his birthday. 

George Washington died December 14, 1799 at the age of 67 at Mount Vernon, Virginia. Washington contracted a throat infection while on horseback december 12 and he died december 14 of quinsy.

George Washington was one of the most influential figures for the United States of America. From the time he was born in 1732, to the time he died in 1799 Washington did great things for the people of the United States of America. In everything he did he was great. From farming to being president, one could say everything Washington did was beneficial to the general population. It is beyond wild to picture this country without George Washington considering everything he did in his lifetime. Would we be where we are today without him?
