Wolf Hollow vs To Kill a Mockingbird Essay Example

Today, I will be explaining similarities between To Kill a Mockingbird And Wolf Hollow.  Wolf hollow is a book written by author lauren folk. To Kill a Mockingbird is written by Harper lee.

Wolf Hollow is an award winning book about a young girl named Annabelle.  Annabelle has just turned twelve and is beginning to learn how to lie. She runs into a bully named Betty who has promised to make Annabelle pay the price if she doesn’t bring her what she wants. Annabelle isn´t afraid of herself getting hurt, but is afraid something much worse will happen.  She also meets Toby, a WW1 veteran that lots of people despise. 

To Kill A Mockingbird is about Atticus who is a lawyer during the 1940´s. He is asked to defend Tom Robinson, an African American who is wrongly accused of raping a white women. Atticus takes on this case even though he has little to no hopes as to winning this case. He has now made himself a target now that he has decided to work on this case. Tom Robinson is also a target now that he is being accused.

Tom and Toby are both in very similar predicaments. Toby is accused of causing Betty, Annebelle´s bully, to go missing. Annebelle decides to hide and help  Toby in the book, just like Atticus helps Tom in the book by defending him in his case. Altho Atticus doesn´t have much faith in Tom Robinson's case, Annebelle believes that she has a chance of keeping Toby hidden from officials. 

In conclusion, they are both very interesting books. To Kill A Mockingbird is a great book that starts off very slow but once you read further in the book you get to see how intriguing it is. It is very unpredictable and I wouldn't suggest to any young readers. Wolf Hollow is a book I would recommend for any readers. It is a very good book from beginning to end. As a first time reader, I was hooked on to the book from just reading the first few chapters. In my opinion, To Kill A Mockingbird and Wolf Hollow are great books for middle school and high school readers.
