Analyzing The Love Between Romeo And Juliet
How could extreme love affect people's relationship with others? It’s important not to let love consume people to the point where they lose important relationship connections in their life. Romeo and Juliet, for example, from the play Romeo and Juliet struggled with such. Like so, Romeo and Juliet love to no end, but emotionally have a different relationship with their parents.
To begin with, Romeo and Juliet share an eagerness for love toward one another. This gives a sense that there really is true love out there. For example, when Romeo stated “Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For I ne’er saw true beauty till this night” (I.v.52-53). This implies more of a love at first sight situation for Romeo. Supporting how he and Juliet love to no end. Moving on to Juliet, in which she stated “O Romeo. Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse they name; Or if thou will not, be but sworn my love, And I’ll no longer be a Capulet” (II.ii.33-36). With this, Juliet suggests that she will do everything in her power to be with Romeo. Providing a clear image of the true intensity of their passion for each other. Likewise, this is extremely similar to the way teens act today, like being remarkably quick to jump in love.
Secondly, Romeo and Juliet have noticeably different relationships with their parents. Which has its own set of benefits and or downfalls. For example, when Lady Montague, Romeo's mom, stated “O, where is Romeo? Saw you him today? Right glad I am he was not at this fray” (I.i.111-112). Lady Montague saying this brings light to how she is worried about Romeo and making sure he is ok. On the other hand, Juliet is treated completely different by her parents. By which Juliets dad, Lord Capulet stated, “And you be not, hang, beg, starve, die in the streets, For by soul, I’ll ne’er acknowledge thee, Nov what is mine shall never do thee good” (III.v.194-196). Nevertheless, Lord Capulet basically expressed how he will disown Juliet if she does not follow his authority. Therefore, thoroughly presenting the wide range of differences in Romeo and Juliets relationship with their parents. Like how some people may have strict or laid back parents, as a result it may vary people's relationship with them.
In conclusion, though Romeo and Juliet share deep affection for one another they have dissimilar connections with their parents. This is important because similar things can happen to people in the real world. For example, how Romeo and Juliet loved each other excessively and had completely different relationships with their parents can happen to anyone nowadays. Such as someone getting a boyfriend and or girlfriend, and them entirely forgetting where they came from and losing connections with loved ones.
