Comparison Essay on Characters in the Great Gatsby

In the book The Great Gatsby some characters have some similarities and differences within the story. which make them like other characters and how they are different from each other during  this time . Also the reader is  going to explain how to compare and contrast these  characters with each. Then when  comparing them and contrasting them the reader is going to put the characters in two and show similarities and differences in each paragraph. Lastly, the reader is going to next  make a good argument about them.

BP1:the two characters the reader is going to do are Tom and Gatsby. Tom and Gatsby have many  similarities but also have many differences and here is how. When it comes to Tom and Gatsby they both have something in common, they both love daisy everytime when it come about daisy they both make quotes about her like Tom once said “I wonder where in the devil he met Daisy”(Fitzgerald p 103) and Gatsby once said “I felt far away from her and it's hard to make her understand”(Fitzgerald p 109) and all they quotes must mean they both have a interest into daisy. Also but here the thing  they both see things differently towards her because Tom loves Daisy as a person, and Gatsby loves her as an idea and also when it comes to women towards them both want to have the tendency to control women and see them as prize reveals of the misogyny of the 1920s and how the lifestyle is . Also Tom sees Gatsby as someone from an entirely different class than him but what they have in common in most is selfishness, affairs, obsession with appearances which make a larger argument for an overall moral hollowness of the rich of any class. Last but not least to the conclusion Tom and Gatsby are alike in many ways they both have an interest in Daisy and some of the same personality. Also to come to all of it Tom and gatsby are really just rich men who have differences and similarities within them. Lastly, in my conclusion Tom and Gatsby are just eyes through nick who worship the other and hate the others.

BP2:  Since the reader  knows these two characters have similarities and differences it’s also been found that not only do Tom and Gatsby have similarities and differences but so do Daisy and Myrtle and here how. In the story the we the reader have found out that these two women have things in common like for instance both them are unhappy in their lives and they are in love with a different person name Tom also they both like him in a different way also they may be friends in a way because Myrtle once made a comment saying “ Daisy Daisy Daisy”(Fitzgerald Chapter 2). But here the thing is, since they are friends their way of lifestyle is different because Daisy's life comes from a wealthy upper-class family and she has been raised in privilege while Myrtle has been fighting everything she has. Also Myrtle has been trying to be like Daisy of her wealth but she fails to be a wealthy woman. Because Myrtle has a thickish figure which means she is not skinny, and a beautiful woman how the Author F.Scott Fitzgerald gave her to be and which proves the reader that the appearance of Daisy is Contrast towards Myrtle. Last but least to the reader Conclusion the only similarity of these two characters is there relationship and knowing there both a woman and there differences is there appearance and the lifestyle. So since i know this they both have somewhat close to the same life because of how their relationship and how it affects them both in the story.

Now since we talk about Tom , Gatsby, Daisy, and Myrtle the last two characters that we the reader are going to do are Nick and Jordan differences and similarities. Now the first thing that Jordan and Nick have in common are  is they have both seen each other attractive why because Jordan once said that she seems drawn towards nick and nick seen drawn to Jordan during the first chapter also during the story Jordan made a quote saying “he told me something Amazing''( F.Scott Fitzgerald  ) . Also some differences between these two is Nick says she is dishonest and that Nick is an honest person in life and also like how she cheated in a sports game. Last  but least Jordan and Nick wanted to be in a relationship but Nick wanted to break off the relationship he left in the Midwest and because he said to himself “ i am one of the few honest people that I have ever known.”(F.Scott Fitzgerald). To the conclusion now we the readers know that Jordan and Nick will be in a relationship and it seems that they both like each other. These two characters are the only characters that have a good bond of liking each other inside the story.
