Everyone has blamed someone in their life, in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, someone is responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet. ‘Romeo and Juliet” is set in a city called Verona, Italy, in the 17th century. It is a very exciting but tragic love story that ends with both Romeo and Juliet dying. Romeo is the son of the Montague family and Juliet is the daughter of the Capulet family, both these families were enemies of each other.
Out of all the characters involved in Romeo’s and Juliet’s death, the “holy” man Friar Lawrence is ironically the most responsible. For someone whose job is to serve and be close to God, he causes the most harm. And Romeo is to blame as well because of his impulsive, rash, and poor decision-making for why he is the most responsible for the tragedy. Throughout the whole story, Friar Lawrence holds some responsibility for the tragedy of the couple like when he marries the two of them knowing that they have only known each other for a short time.

Friar Laurence’s interference in the families of Romeo and Juliet set much of the fighting, rage and death of these characters into motion. Romeo and Juliet is the title of a great tragedy. This tragedy has been caused by Friar Laurence’s involvement. the Friar’s lying to Capulet and his family, and his involvement in the false death of Juliet. Therefore, Juliet dies because Friar Lawrence did not consider thinking that something may occur. This situation could have easily been avoided if Friar Lawrence gave the letter personally to Romeo. Therefore, the Friar was responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths.

This essay will prove from my point of view, that Two characters with their actions, decisions and timing were most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. In my opinion, the character most responsible was Friar Lawrence, for he married Romeo and Juliet without their parents’ consent, although he did offer them advice. “Wisely and slow; they stumble and run fast.” (2.3.94-95). Tybalt killed Mercutio, and then Romeo killed Tybalt, which resulted in Romeo’s Banishment. After Friar Lawrence came up with a plan that he claimed would save both Romeo and Juliet, but the plan didn’t work and it ended up killing both Romeo and Juliet. So Romeo  and Friar Lawrence are both responsible for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet.

At the end of the play who or what do you feel is the most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet? The play ‘Romeo and Juliet” is set in a city called Verona, Italy, in the 17th century.
