What do you think about a future where extraordinary wildlife and animals are just a myth, trees and oxygen is a resource and kids will grow up never being able to experience the beauty of nature. This is the foreseen future for the future generations of children of the world if humanity is unable to correct our mistakes.

This is now the time to act, and if not, this world will be beyond repair by 2027. Humans and innocent animals face new challenges for survival because of climate change. More frequent and intense drought, storms, heat waves, rising sea levels, melting glaciers and warming oceans can all directly harm animals, destroy the places they live, and wreak havoc on people's livelihoods and communities all to the point where up to 75% of all life will consecutively become extinct, otherwise known as The Mass Extinction.  In 1950 the world emitted 6 billion tonnes of CO2. By 1990 this had almost quadrupled, reaching more than 22 billion tonnes. Emissions have continued to grow rapidly; we now emit over 34 billion tonnes each year.

We are almost at the tipping point of climate change where the accumulation of heat from global warming will be too much for the environment to handle, and eventually reach a stage where it has become too late. Some examples which are due in the future include: the Amazon which is already losing more carbon than it is absorbing due to deforestation and is predicted by some models that by 2035 The Amazon will be a permanent source of carbon. The Greenland ice sheet contains enough water to raise global sea levels by over 20 feet and thawing permafrost found in northern hemisphere lands without glaciers, which can release up to fourteen hundred billion tons of carbon are thought to be frozen in the Arctic’s permafrost, which is twice as much carbon as is currently in the atmosphere. All these events will cause the climate crisis to only quicken our inevitable demise if not tended to.

Now you may be wondering, “what now?”.

It's simple, we have to reduce carbon emissions. All CO2 emitted contributes to global warming, therefore it's time to get serious. As agreed in the Paris Agreement, leaders must finance and help developing nations in their efforts to adapt to climate change. They need to decarbonise quicker. Restore carbon-absorbing natural systems, such as plants and trees which naturally use photosynthesis to take in Carbon Dioxide and redisperse oxygen back into the atmosphere. Reduce the amount of methane and other glasshouse gases in the atmosphere as quickly as possible. Support the international Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol who succeeded in gradually reducing the consumption and production of hydrofluorocarbons used in the cooling industry which was affecting the atmosphere’s ozone layer. Every company, every investor, and every citizen must do their share.

Children of the next generation are forced to suffer due to the self-indulgent obstructionists who rule our current world. The politicians of our current day and age are simply a joke who don't understand the simple fact of which, their actions have consequences on the future generations.  To quote Scott Morrison, the Prime Minister of Australia “Don't be afraid, don't be scared, it won't hurt you. It's coal.” This ladies and gentleman is the future, yes you should be scared, yes you should panic and yes coal will hurt you.
