Sometimes, people get blinded by what they believe is love, when in reality, it is just an attraction or impulsive desire towards someone else. People tend to make decisions based on what others say and these actions could end in tragedy. Something similar happened in Romeo and Juliet. The main characters: Romeo and Juliet, end up in a series of unfortunate events, due to many conflicts and incidents around them that influenced their actions. There are many people are responsible for the tragic death of Romeo and Juliet including both Friars, the two lovers, and their parents.

Friar J. and Friar L. both make mistakes that lead to the tragic events of Romeo and Juliet. Friar L. had a plan to help Juliet, but it ended up failing and in misery. Part of his plan included “I’ll send a Friar with speed/To Mantua, with my letters to thy lord” (70) but Friar J. “I could not send it, -here it is again, /Nor get a messenger to bring it thee” (83) Since he failed it ruined everything.  Friar L. should never have played with the fake death of someone since; the death of a loved one could be very destructive for others. His intentions were good, but the result of his plan ended up two lives by accident. He should have analyzed all the possible results of his plan, and since he didn’t; everything went wrong. Friar J’s only job was to deliver a letter and failed, his intentions weren’t bad, he didn’t want to hurt anyone, but he sadly did. They both made mistakes since they are only humans, but it leads to a tragic story. Romeo and Juliet’s parents also had a big influence on their actions.

The main responsible ones for the tragedy between Romeo and Juliet are themselves. Romeo and Juliet make impulsive and immature decisions. Romeo is also shown as a violent person on many occasions, including “Alive, in triumph! and Mercutio slain!... Either thou, or I, or both, must go with him” (46) Meaning he wants one of them to die. Juliet takes decisions that make her look a little crazy, in one part Juliet says “Be not so long to speak; I long to die, / If what thou speak'st speak not of remedy” (69) She wants Friar L. to help her be with Romeo and she is willing to die if he doesn’t give her a good plan. Both characters are making immature and crazy decisions, Romeo is blinded by anger and therefore he becomes a violent persona and Juliet is so young and desperate because she refuses to marry Paris that she would do anything to be with Romeo. The way the parents of Romeo and Juliet acted had also a great impact on their decisions.

The parents of Romeo and Juliet had a great impact on the tragic death of the two lovers. Romeo and Juliet’s parents never told them about the importance of loving God beyond anything else, rather than trying to please themselves. A verse that shows how humans tend to care more about insignificant fake feelings is “For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God” (2 Timothy 3:1-4) The responsibility of Romeo and Juliet’s parents was to “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4) Do to their parent’s incapability to guide them and show them to grow into God, Romeo and Juliet only cared about nonsense feelings instead of praying to God and asking him for wisdom or clarity on what they should do. Romeo sinned multiple times without remorse or any feeling of repentance which shows how far he is from God. They were also never shown trust from their parents and therefore, they just took decisions based on young ideas. Romeo and Juliet’s parents never taught them about God, which led them to make horrible mistakes.

There are multiple people responsible for the tragic events of Romeo and Juliet, including themselves, both Friars, and their parents. Romeo and Juliet made hasty decisions and didn’t feel real love towards each other, it was just an attraction of interest. Both Friar L. and Friar J. made mistakes by accident. Friar L didn’t think about the possible outcomes of his plan which included playing with death. Friar J. didn’t deliver the letter to Romeo which leads Romeo to take some horrible actions. Romeo's and Juliet’s parents didn’t encourage them to follow God, they also didn’t give them a sign of trust which led them to make crazy and immature decisions. Learning to control emotions may be difficult but it is very important just as it is important to think about all the possible consequences of every decision, but the most important thing is to love and honor God.
