If you played your heart out to make it to the MLB, and become a superstar, would you want the honor to be in the MLB Hall of Fame? Pete Rose was one of the best players to ever play the game of baseball. Pete Rose is from Cincinnati, Ohio. He made his first MLB appearance in 1963 for the Cincinnati Reds. When someone says Pete Rose you don’t think of what he did on the field, they think of what he did while he was a manager. He is best known for gambling on his team while he was the manager. Although he is also known by a couple of people for being the most aggressive player to ever touch the diamond. He got banned from the MLB in 1989 for life from gambling, which also means he can’t get into the Hall of Fame. Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame because he has the hitting record, 3 World Series titles, and he played his heart out every time he touched the field.

Having the hitting record in the MLB with 4,256 hits would get you into the hall of fame even with the accusations and ban. In the article, “4256 Reasons Why Pete Rose Should be in the Hall of Fame”, Who Dey, a Cincinnati author writes, “first and foremost, Rose holds the league record for most career hits with 4,256” (Dey). Nobody that recently plays is nowhere close to this record. The closest person to any of his records is Albert Pujols. In his 23 seasons as a player for multiple different teams, he has a combined 4,256 hits. That is the first reason why the ban should be lifted and inducted into the hall of fame. He gave everything he got every time he stepped up to the plate. He was a great baseball player and he wasn't looking for a walk, he was looking for a hit.

Somebody with 3 MLB World Series Titles would think they would at least have a chance to get into the Hall of Fame. Well not Pete Rose, because of a bet he placed. How is that such a big deal when they have betting stations at the stadiums now? In the very short article, “Does Pete Rose Belong in the Hall of Fame? Absolutely!” Patrick Pinak, A Florida native who loves baseball writes, “But let’s be real. Why wouldn’t you want to be cemented in history as one of the greatest players in baseball history, especially when you deserve it”(Pinak)? Pete Rose shows all the different aspects of being able to be in the Hall of Fame. He ended his career with a .303 batting average, which .366 is the highest batting average of players in the MLB Hall of Fame. All of the MLB Hall of Famers have at least one World Series title under their belt. Pete Rose was able to get 3 under his belt before he became manager.

A 17-time all-star would definitely make it into the Hall of Fame, right? Not Completely. In the article, “Who is baseball kidding? It’s time to lift the ban and give Pete Rose his due”, Steve Greenberg writes, “Rose is a 17-time All-Star with three batting titles, three World Series titles, an unbreakable hits record, and a banishment from the game that has run its course and then some”(Greenberg). Every season Pete has played he has given it everything he has to be the best there is. Pete Rose is known to be so aggressive, during one of the All-Star games, he slid into home trucking over the catcher to win the game. This shows he is willing to do anything to win a baseball game, even if it is an all-star game which merely means anything. For someone to put this amount of effort and time into the game, just to be ignored, is merely a crime. We know he messed up, but he was a gambler, not a cheater.

On the other hand, some people might say Pete Rose has no shot and doesn't deserve to be in the Hall of Fame due to his gambling. They said he was basically betting on himself. In this informing article, “Pete Rose Does Not Belong in the Baseball Hall of Fame”, the author states their side clearly. They state, “Pete Rose's banishment was the consequence of his gambling, which was one of his many moral failings that have since come to light. In recent years, allegations of misdeeds by Mr. Rose have surfaced that from both a moral and a legal perspective is far more worrisome than betting. If true, those kinds of crimes are among the worst of the worst, and Mr. Rose should not be granted any leeway in attempting to excuse them”(Pete Rose Does Not). This quote states that they firmly believe Pete Rose has to pay for his actions, and his consequence is that he isn't allowed to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. With how good of a ballplayer he was, his banishment should be dropped, and he should be inducted into the hall of fame. He has put so much time and effort into the game of baseball than anyone else ever has. He has tried his best for every play he has played. Every time he steps on the field, he tries to get better every time he practices. Someone with this type of motivation and comradery should be able to get inducted into the MLB hall of fame.

Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame because he has the hitting record with 4256, 3 World Series titles, and he played his heart out every time he touched the field. Pete Rose was one of the best baseball players a man could ever watch. He has done things that nobody could ever dream and imagine doing. First of all, he has a hitting record and multiple different records that are far from being broken. He is a 3-time world series winner, which is more than enough to get him into the hall of fame. Last but not least, He has the heart of a warrior and plays his best every time he steps on the baseball diamond to play America’s game, known as baseball. If MLB would read a book or open their eyes, they would see he is more than qualified to be inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame, or possibly even to be written down as the best baseball player of all time.
