Hypatia, born in 255 CE in Alexandria, Egypt. She was a mathematician, astronomer and a philosopher. She lived in an era where women weren't supposed to be big inventors. It was uncommon and unacceptable from the public for a woman to have such success. Hypatia was the daughter of Theon who was also a mathematician as well.

Hypatia followed and learned from her father. Theon the father of Hypatia was a very well known and educated mathematician. Theon raised her in the world of education where she would begin to love the educated world. Hypatia was the only daughter of Theos. It is believed that she surpassed her father's knowledge in mathematics.

Hypatia was a very popular teacher. People from other cities would come and study and also learn. She was taught from her father on how to influence people with the power of words. She attracted many loyal students who were really passionate about her ways of teaching. Hypatia believed in her religion and was faithful; she refused to become Christian and taught Pegan beliefs.

Hypatia was an amazing public speaker, who taught her beliefs as a mathematician. She followed in her father's steps. She overcame the sexism in her era, when becoming a big public speaker. She also invented the astrolabe for ship navigation and devices for measuring the density of fluids. Hypatia died in March 415 AD.
