Immigrants in the United States Essay Example

The United States is a nation of immigrants. Immigrants are people who left their homeland to go to a different nation for many reasons.There were more immigrants in the United States during industrialization and the years 1820-1920.  Immigrants came to the United States for a new and better life but many of these immigrants faced hardships after they arrived in the United States.Immigrants came to the United States for many reasons however once they got to the United States they faced many hardships.

There were many people immigrating to the United States.In the graph about Number of Immigrants Entering United States Each Year we are able to see at what time there were the most immigrants.During industrialization a lot of people moved for jobs.We can see the should en increase in immigrants and the decrease in immigrants by this graph.Also another document talks about immigrant. The document for a Greek immigrant that came to the USA in 1969.In the document it talks about the money difference and how in America it pays you more to make money as it says “A worker in Greece made about five dollars a day, when a worker’s pay in the United States was about thirty dollars a day.” The document shows how some people come to the USA to get a high paying job.Industrialization made it so that there were more jobs in the United States.

Immigrants came to the United States for many reasons and one reason was for a better job opportunity. In the letter from the polish man who came to the United States he talks about how the jobs in poland pay little and home jobs in the United States pay way more then the jobs in Poland.In the second document the letter from a Polish man says “ I do not speak well english and I cannot understand what they say to me.” The document shows how immigrants face problems like the language barrier.And money is an issue as they can’t get jobs.

From the information obtained from the documents we can tell how there were many reasons immigrants came to the United States. However many immigrants faced hardships after arriving. The documents that we have studied in class say the main idea is that the United States had a lot of immigrants.
