Socialism vs. Capitalism Essay Example

Would you want to live a life where everyone would be equal, or to have better advantages than everyone? Starting from the industrial revolution, socialism versus capitalism has been a long going debate that still goes on today. Capitalism is more beneficial and provides a greater benefit than socialism. 

First off, capitalism allows for a wider variety of products for consumers. Businesses are always competing with each other to gain consumers buying their products. As a result, businesses will find a problem and make a product for it, no matter how small or big the issue is. For example, things such as headphones, electronics, cars, and more. Though, because of the wider variety due to businesses always competing with each other, it also means the workers will also have to compete. Those with average skills will most likely be fired because of people having better skills than others. However, since there are so many businesses, there will always be a spot for those with "average" skills. 

In addition, capitalism allows freedom and self-interest. People are given choices of what they want. Unlike socialism, where the government will only give you what you need. Which means the things in your life, whether it's room decoration, collectible toys, books, you will not have this in a socialist system. Along with producers, they have the freedom to produce anything they want. But, it can also lead to being financially unstable if you are not good enough or wanted. 

Lastly, capitalism encourages growth. What I mean by this is that since businesses are always competing to be the best, it also means that businesses will come out with even greater ideas advancing society as a whole. Though, because society is advancing every day due to capitalism, which also means that the environment will also be damaged, such as the forests and the ocean. But, because we are advancing every day at the same time, we can instead of using harmful products, and replace with eco-friendly daily items. For example, using bikes instead of cars or taking shorter showers.

In conclusion, capitalism is more beneficial to society. Capitalism gives you more than what you realize, from the cars you ride, the electronic you're reading this essay on. If we had a socialist society, half of the stuff in life would have never existed.
