I will be proposing a documentary that I certainly believe should be produced for the entertainment of many viewers. Now, a lot of people have heard of the Bermuda Triangle mystery, where more than 50 planes and 20 ships have gone missing without a trace, I know I have. For a long time, I’ve wondered, what caused them to disappear? What actually happened to them?  This inspired to think of an informative documentary named, “The Devil’s Triangle”. So, what will this documentary be about? Well, The Devil’s Triangle will debunk the mysteries of the Bermuda triangle and investigate what actually happened to these missing cases. Were they caused by paranormal or supernatural forces? Creatures that were deemed to be fictional? a natural phenomenon? The Devil’s Triangle will answer the question everyone has been asking. It will be very engaging to older audiences and people who are interested in this topic. This documentary will also communicate fascinating information to these viewers which will, in turn, help them understand this interesting occurrence, something I believe people should understand.

The Devil’s Triangle will be an expository documentary. It will show different photo and video montages of the Bermuda Triangle as well as the incidents with a voiceover explaining it in detail. The voiceover won’t be any celebrity in particular, but rather the director of the documentary, me. Through various interviews, relevant data, archival footage and images, and voiceover narration, the viewers will go through a journey to discover what happened in this phenomenon. They will help communicate information on the Bermuda Triangle and the causes of the missing cases. It will also provide significant pieces of evidence that will assist the audience in understanding the location.

The documentary will first start with basic information on the Bermuda Triangle regarding its location, appearance, other names etc. Those living near the Triangle will also be interviewed during the beginning of the documentary. They will be asked with the question “What do you know or have heard about the Bermuda Triangle?”. I am aiming to get theories that they believe to be true, maybe even witnesses of the disappearances during the 1900’s. As the documentary progresses, cases like flight 19, flight 201, The USS Cyclops etc will be mentioned and explained, with Archival footages and photos of the aircraft and ships being displayed. Significant radio recordings from the communication systems will also be used as further data for these cases. These events won’t be focused on for too long, however, as the possible causes of these cases will slowly be revealed using scientifical information and evidence as well as interviews from important sources, including scientists. The documentary will end with a general overview of the information presented and will confirm that there are no sea monsters in the Bermuda Triangle.

One key scene in The Devils Triangle is the justifications of the incidents. This scene in the documentary will explain the probable causes of the missing cases. As it transitions in,

the suspenseful music will slowly fade away while the narrator states what may have happened to the missing aircraft and ships. The voiceover will mention how the incidents may have been caused due to the large-scale magnetic fields in the area, human error, underwater methane deposits and rough waves. All of the causes stated by the voiceover will be explained through scientific detail, diagrams/animations, and important data. To add on, the use of technical language will also be included. Using this language technique gives the audience assurance that the information stated us accurate. An interview with Karl Kruszelnicki, an Australian Science communicator, will be incorporated as well. He claims to have solved the mystery behind the disappearances after being interviewed by news.com.au. By interviewing him, we will be able to provide evidence to the viewers and help communicate his studies to the viewers.  This significant scene will end with more uplifting music to lighten the atmosphere, and a softer tone as the documentary slowly comes to an end.

To conclude, I hope that you will consider this documentary as I believe that it will be very appealing and informative to various audiences. Thank you for this opportunity to share my idea.
