Currently, we live a comfortable life as a consequence of the inventions of the past. Throughout the years, many inventions were made in hopes of the betterment of our future. Various facets of Technology were invented in a rapid manner. As a result, our society is rapidly changing for the better. However, what invention led us to where we are right now?  For me, The most significant invention that led us to where we are right now is the invention of technology, specifically the emergence of the printing press.

The emergence of the printing press brought a massive change to our society. Before its invention, books were only for those who are in noble lineage or people with wealthy backgrounds, and knowledge was limited only to those who can afford for a book to be hand copied. However, things changed with the emergence of this technology as it led to much easier access to books and various printed sources. Therefore, the dissemination of knowledge became rife and much accessible to the majority. As a consequence of its rifeness, many were able to read and grasp the prior knowledge and theories. As many were able to grasp knowledge, many were able to test previous theories, apply knowledge, and discover more about the world which led science to advance rapidly. Moreover, Aside from the rapid dissemination of knowledge, the gift of the printing press to science was the accuracy with which the original data were copied. Consequently, the creation of various advanced technologies from medical, manufacturing, communication, and transportation were made possible due to the accurate knowledge and theories acquired from books which are then applied practically. Thus, everything that has led to human progress and the advancement of the modern world is owed to the printing press.  Aside from that, the ubiquity of books due to the prevalence of the printing press has led the people to desire the gain of knowledge which led to vast social and cultural changes. As such, direct ramification of democratized access to text, aided in the creation of new communities that were based around common readings and the discussion of their ideas.

The world today would be different without the printing press. The saying that knowledge is power is indeed true and can be seen in how the previous years unfolded with the emergence of the printing press. Its emergence allows knowledge to be disseminated and be used as a power. Thus, it led to various advancements in literacy, education, and science in the early years, improving the lives of most people. Moreover,  Without the printing press, we wouldn't be where we are today. This Technology changed the world forever and will continue to do so.
