Genetically Modified foods also known as GMO are very good for the future of humanities food supplies. We can change the food for our changing needs as in the future we don't know what kind of diseases or how to environment will be. So having the ability to do so is necessary as being prepared is far better than responding to the problem on the spot..

When farmers are growing food there is often pest and weeds that will get into the crop. These pests can ruin crops and be detrimental. So If they farmer uses a normal crop they have to do intense work to get rid of it like pulling weeds out by hand and using machines to get rid of the bugs. However if they use GMO crops resistant to pesticides and herbicides they can spray it on them and easily get rid of the problem.

These crops also have the ability to produce more food and do it more efficiently. When humans first started farming the banana it was filled to the brim with seeds (Musa Balbisiana) however over a couple eons we bred it to what it is today. Now imagine we cross food species without having to do it for thousands of years producing a more edible and bountiful crop. Nowadays some of the crops that have been modified are corn and soy. These crops have been modified in the fact that a gene was added so that bugs will die if they consume it.

Adapting crops to their environment will be necessary in the future as our future climate is undetermined due the fact that climate change is in full swing. Imagine that in 100 years temperatures are 10 degrees hotter some plants won't adapt unless we do it for them. Also we would be able to grow crops in harsher climates like the Sahara or the Arctic increasing the food supplies for people in these places. In fact this is already being done in 2015 Korean scientist developed a sweet potato that's able to be grown in the desert. He has said that "Overgrazing and the inappropriate management of water and soil" is caused by the poverty of locals and it can be stopped by proper procedures to grow crops.

Therefore GMO's will become increasing more important to our lives as we go on. We will continue to alter our food to produce better a more crop which is a great thing for the future of mankind. In doing so we may save lives and we could ultimately end starvation.
