The New Deal Essay Sample

The new deal is a series of projects that were made during the great depression by President Roosevelt. They were made to give back happiness and success to the US during the great depression. They were Roosevelts reforms. When Roosevelt was appointed to office in 1933, he acted smoothly to stabilize the economy and provide jobs and relief to the people who suffered.  

The new deal reform was adored across the US and many citizens supported it and what it did for them and the economy. During these programs, many found work, and shelter. Most say that franklin Roosevelt was one of the most helpful presidents in history because of how much the New Deal Program helped them, their friends, and family.

There were many New Deal programs, but some of them stood out to me. The first one is the Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA). It offered farmers money to make less cotton in order to raise prices. It also enhanced the economic conditions of several farmers during the Great Depression. “It helped out with limiting crop production, reducing stock numbers, and refinancing mortgages with terms more favorable to poor farmers.” Unfortunately, the AAA doesn’t exist any longer. It was ended in 1942.

The second one is my personal favorite; it is called the Works Progress Administration (WPA). It is the largest New Deal agency in the world and it affects millions of Americans and provides so many jobs across the nation. It built multiple roads, buildings, and other projects. The WPA also employed skilled and unskilled workers in a great amount of work projects. Many of which were public work projects such as creating schools and parks. Even though this WPA didn’t impact the great depression as much as the AAA did, it supplied paid jobs to the men and the women with no jobs during the Great Depression. Despite the attacks against the WPA and how many people who didn’t support it, it is still known today for the employment it offered to millions during the darkest days of the Great Depression.

The final one is the National Industrial Act (NIRA). It was a US labor law and consumer law passed by the 73rd US congress. It supervised fair trade codes and guaranteed laborers a right to collective bargaining. It was generally an effort to help the nation recuperate from the great depression. The NIRA fixed wages and prices, established production quotas, and placed restrictions on the entry of other companies into the alliances. This New Deal program sought to assist the nation’s economic recovery as well as emotional recovery. It authorized, supported, and in some cases, enforced a coalition of industries. The agency of NIRA was alive until 1943, it ended because of the reorganization Act of 1939. It not only ended ethe NIRA but it ended most federal agencies as well.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a bunch of these New Deal Programs around anymore. Most of them were took out by the Reorganization Act as I stated before. Overall, Franklin D Roosevelt was one of Americas greatest leaders, His New Deal led to economic relief, recovery, and reform. It also mended the base of the economy. In conclusion, the new deal was effective.
