Water Pollution in Canada Essay Example

Although water and sanitation may seem like a simple thing that everyone has, it’s not. There are around 884 million people who do not have access to safe drinking water and 2.6 billion people without proper sanitation. However there are solutions to making all the water clean. For example in Aruba, although they have no fresh water around the island, they still have clean water. This is because they have the second largest desalination plant to supply fresh water all over the island. 

Although Canada is a fairly wealthy country, there are still parts around the country that have no clean water. This isn’t because we don’t have enough money or resources, it’s just that the government does not decide to focus on it. When Justing Trudeau was elected he promised he would take out all boil water advisories to all Native communities by 2021 but he has broken his promise. He had a huge budget but has failed to use it properly and for the right resources. Hopefully in a few more years Canada can fully get rid of all water advisories.

If I was able to make a system to eliminate dirty water from houses across Canada, I would make multiple factories. First of all I would need to find multiple places where no one is with a huge body of water because I would need a steady amount of water to keep up all the water used each day and not near people because it would be loud and big. The next thing I would do is put tubes leading into the factory because it needs water to produce water. Then I would put multiple filters in. The first one would be placed at the front so the water can come through and then the solids would be put into a tube and thrown away. The second one would be used to separate the liquids that aren’t water from the water and another tube would take them away. After those are put in, I would make a giant boiling area where it would make it safe. Then after I would make another tube leading to homes that need the water. The good thing about this is that it could open up jobs to run them and eliminate lots of water problems. The bad thing about this is that it would cost a huge amount of money, space and time. It would also use lots of land and cause pollution. 

Another way I could try to make a system is with powder. The first step of this plan would be to hire a team of researchers to find a cheap, easy and healthy for the enviroment powder that could seperate clean water from dirty. Then I would make many factories that would have the purpose of putting the powder into water and distributing out the clean water. It would first pump alot of water into the factories then close off the entry. Then it would release the powder, putting all the dirt to the ground. After that it would pump all the water out and distribute it evenly amongst the communities. Finally it would take the dirt and throw it out and do the cycle again. The good thing about this is that you could also sell the powder at stores and people could do it by themselves. The bad thing about this is that it could kill animals by sucking them in the factory and putting powder into them. 

In conclusion, the solution to clean water and sanitation may just not be as easy as it seems. Although many people have ideas, there are many factors that play out in actually executing the plan. For example, the amount of pollution it would make, the amount of wildlife it would kill, etc. We need to find the solution soon because many people and animals die each year because they do not have proper water and santitation.
