Christmas Carol Scrooge And Marley Character Analysis

It is possible to change one personality from one to another. An example of this would be the characters of Scrooge and Marley in Charles Dickens’ novel, A Christmas Carol.At the end of the story Scrooge was shown his life as a flashback, and it is atrocious. Scrooge was very mean to most people but then he started regretting it at the end of act two of Scrooge and Marley in Charles Dickens' novel, A Christmas Carol. Therefore it is possible for someone to change because Scrooge did it after he was shown his past life and started to regret his life choices.

In the play, Ebenezer Scrooge is unhappy, miserable, and selfish. Scrooge's father was mean to him and didn't love him consequently he sent him to a boarding school because he didn't want to be around him, so it resentented into him also being a mean person.When Scrooge was two scenes in his own past, he saw his old school, his childhood mates, and familiar landmarks of his age. Touched by these memories, Scrooge begins to cry.  The ghost takes the weeping man into the school where a young Ebenezer Scrooge passes the Christmas holiday all alone. The final scene he presents is one that Scrooge cannot bear to witness his lost love, Belle, with her family. Scrooge turns on the ghost and demands to be shown no more.

Scrooge had to see the ghost of the Christmas present. The Ghost of Christmas Present had shown him what his life would look like if he's not more careful with it. The Ghost of Christmas Present had shown him the life of Bob Cratchit. Then he started to feel bad about his life. He also saw that one of Cratchit's children was handicapped and he also saw that he has a lot of kids, they are in poverty, and the family is still growing.

Scrooge started to change at the end. He started to see how his actions were a little stupid. Scrooge started to feel bad because he didn’t help the other people. Scrooge had started to help others after that but he was still a little selfish.

At the end of the play, “A Christmas Carol: Scrooge & Marley”,  originally written by Charles Dickens, Ebenezer Scrooge is  unsympathetic. The change in Ebenezer Scrooge’s situation is realistic because people can reflect, empathize, and change to correct previous wrong behaviors to have a happier future. Due to dynamic circumstances, it is possible for someone to change from one extreme personality to another.
