Did you know that inhaling air pollution takes 1-2 years away from life? imagine if we don’t change anything now, how much worse things are gonna get, and how many more years of life it’s gonna take away from future generations. There are so many things we could do to improve, for example, transportation, home items, adapting the clean power plan.

One of the many ways we can help reduce air pollution is by making good transportation choices. 

For instance, buying cars that are better on miles per gallon or even better buying electric cars. Not only do electric cars reduce air pollution but they are easier and cheaper to maintain, you don’t need to pay for gas, oil changes, have to deal with motor problems, etc. If you're someone who lives in a city where places aren’t too far from your home you should walk or bike not only is it better for the environment but it’s also a good form of exercise. If places aren’t as close to bike or walk you can always use public transportation such as buses, trains, subways, etc, one of the pros about using public transportation is the amount of money you save on average people would save $10,000 yearly by using public transportation than owning and driving a car. Making good transportation choices would help the clean air act, the clean air act is a federal law that helps regulate air emission from stationary and mobile services.

Another way we can help air quality is by buying energy-efficient home items such as lawn equipment most of them use gas like lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and edge trimmers buy buying electric lawn equipment we can stop using gas which is harmful since they have a lot of pollutants like carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and so forth. all of these are harmful to our environment and for us because we breathe all that when it goes into the air. Some other ways you can help our air quality is by buying energy star appliances the next time you need a new microwave, fridge, toaster, etc. Look for items that are energy stars. You will know its energy star because it will have a star with writing across it that says “energy’. Energy star items are very good for our air quality and it helps save money in the long run

The clean power plan is a very helpful act to adapt to help our environment. The clean power plan was first brought up by Barack Obama in 2014. The clean power plan is gonna reduce carbon pollution from power plants and it will avoid 3,600 premature deaths, 1,700 heart attacks, 90,000 asthma attacks, and 300,000 missed work days and school days which is incredible and that's if not more. The clean power plan is also gonna save us $85 yearly on our electricity bill. The clean power plan would also create more jobs for families since it will create a drive and investment in clean energy technology.

Overall air pollution is something we should take seriously not only for us but for future generations like our kids, grandkids, and their kids and so on. We can help them with our transportation choices, what we buy, and what we chose to do as a community and adapt some sort of a plan! If we don’t take action it will hurt us and the future generation to come and cause us pain.
