Freedom is just an illusion. No matter how free you try to be, you will never be completely free. You can never be free from society, the internet, or this world. The pictures you take, the searches you make are all saved and tracked. Freedom is your personal space, which no one in this world can get. People both influence and judge us, no matter the situation. There is a limit, and there are consequences for crossing those limits. So no, I am not free, not from this world, nor the people living in this world.

In the movie, they show how Truman's life is entirely controlled and influenced by others. For example, when Truman brought up the idea of Fiji, his best friend took no time to talk him out of it. This shows us that Truman was influenced by others and was easily talked out of things. He doesn't even know the difference between what's real and what is fake. Truman has had no freedom until the end, when he decides to leave. His life on this island is unreal, and Truman cannot bring back the past years of his life. The world audience is watching him, and this shows that Truman had no personal space. From the day he was born to the day he nearly died on the boat, Christof live broadcasted him. Truman's opinions and personal beliefs were all shaped by his friends, family, and society. He's been surrounded by these fake people since birth, and so he had his trust in them. "As Truman grew up, we were forced to manufacture ways to keep him on the island," this quote tells us that Truman was being forced to stay on this island, and he had no choice. Christopher kept him from the real world and invaded his privacy. Truman was not free and may never be free. His opinions will always be shaped by society because that's what shaped his views before he found out everything was fake.

In conclusion, no one can ever be free. This is no one's fault because we've just grown up in a world where someone tracks and controls everything. No matter how hard we try, we will never get the freedom we desire. We will never be able to do something that is untracked or unsupervised. We live in a country with rules and laws that need to be obeyed. Or else there will be consequences. So the answer to this question is no, I am not free. I'm not free, and I may never be free. Just like we have consequences, Truman did so too when he tried leaving the island. Christof started messing around with Truman's boat and the weather, knowing Truman had aquaphobia. We will never have the license to do whatever we want. You can be free, just not in the world we know as Earth.
