Military Technology in World War II Essay Example

WWII was affected by many factors, one of the main factors is the weapons and artillery. Today I will be teaching you about the main weapons and artillery that was used in WWII. I’m sure that if you are interested in WWII and are wondering what kind of weapons that they used and what they were used for then this is a story for you.   

In WWII there was two atomic bombs dropped in two cities in Japan, the cities were Hiroshima and Nagasaki. On August 6th, 1945 the United States dropped the first ever atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. This atomic bomb killed over 80,000 people instantly and the radiation could infect you even if you were really far away, it may have not killed instantly but as you got older you could get multiple types of cancer at the same time. And on August 9th, 1945 the second ever atomic bomb was dropped on the city of Nagasaki. There were over 40,000 people killed instantly and others died slowly or died when they were older from cancer. On August 15th, 1945 the Emperor Hirohito announced his country's unconditional surrender in WWII. So in WWII it took Japan to get an atomic bomb to get dropped on them twice for them to surrender in the war.

Another key thing in WWII  was the many weapons and artillery that were used by many countries and there were a couple key weapons. There were many different types of weapons like knives, light machine guns, pistols, sniper rifles, siege guns, rocket launchers, flame throwers, mines, traps, grenades and a lot more. But one of the main guns was the M1941 Johnson. The M1941 Johnson was a low recoil, powerful rifle shot in a 7x75 mauser and 30-06 Springfield. The M1941 Johnson held ten rounds in a cylinder. This gun is used world wide. Also mines and traps were used by a lot of different countries, they were used to sneak attack the enemies or make it so the enemies would get in a bad spot and could not get out. 

The last key thing in the war was tanks. Tanks were used in France, USA, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Japan, Czechoslovakia, and Poland. There were around 50,000 tanks used in the war and each tank could hold 3-4 people. The tanks were used for going into enemy territories, used for cover, and transportation. And when they went into enemy territories they were almost completely fine because they had bullet proof armour and glass and they were fully inclosed. They had turrets and machine guns with bullet proof armour also. The tanks could practically go anywhere because they had suspension and they had tracks. “In order to deal with improved German tanks, the Soviets upgunned the T-34 in 1943, creating the T-34-85”-Wikipedia. So basically the tanks were one of the best mobile weapons in the war and good for transportation, because the had armour and were very mobile.

As you read the main weapons and artillery of WWII were very affective.. Also the first atomic bomb sites still have radiation there now so nobody can really go there anymore. And the weapons of war were pretty much all very powerful weapons. And last the tanks were a very helpful act of transportation and weaponry. So how do you think they invented these things?
