The True Culprits on the Death of Romeo and Juliet Essay Example

Imagine being in love with the person that is supposed to be your enemy. That is what happens In  William Shakespeare's “Romeo and Juliet”. At the end, the two main characters die, but was it completely their fault? 

Romeo and Juliet are two teenagers who fall in love. They decide to get married and ignore the fact that their families are enemies. Because of that, they ended up killing themselves so they would never be apart. There were different events that lead to the death of Romeo and Juliet. But the people who ultimately caused it. Are the Montague's, the Capulets and friar Laurence. 

The first culprits in Romeo and Juliet's death are the Montague. They are Romeo's relatives and enemies of Juliet's family, the Capulets.  These two families fight all the time. which causes Romeo and Juliet to keep their relationship a secret.  Juliet said this when she found out Romeo's true identity. “My only love sprung from my only hate!Too early seen unknown, and known too late! Prodigious birth of love it is to me. That I must love a loathèd enemy.” This feud between the two families should have never started. But it is not only Montagues fault it is the Capulets fault too.  

To keep their relationship a secret they have to do extreme things which lead to their deaths. Perhaps, if these two families never fought, Romeo and Juliet would still live. The deaths of Romeo and Juliet are indirectly caused by their familie's feud. But it was Friar Lawrence the one who pulled the trigger. Juliet has an obligation to marry Paris. But she doesn't want to be unfaithful to her husband, so she asks friar Lawrence for his help. “Tell me not, friar, that thou hear'st of this, Unless thou tell me how I may prevent it:

If, in thy wisdom, thou canst give no help, Do thou but call my resolution wise, And with this knife I'll help it presently.” He gave Julet a potion that would make her appear as dead so when she wakes up, she would be with Romeo. The next part of the plan is to send him a letter explaining everything. But Romeo did not get it, instead he heard that Juliet is dead.  When Romeo finds her laying in a tomb, he takes poison and dies next to her. Friar Lawrence has good intentions. But that doesn't take away the fact that his potion is what caused this whole mess.
