Do you know how much Walt Disney impacted the lives of people today? This essay will talk about Walt Disney growing up and his childhood, the inspiration behind Disneyland and Mickey and the other characters he created, and how his legacy went on after he died. Walt Disney had an influence all over the world and now counts twelve parks world wide.

Walt Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois, on December 5, 1901. His father was Canadian and his mother was from Ohio. Walt was raised in Marceline, Missouri on a farm with his 5 siblings,Walt disney didn’t have an amazing life. Gale says “Walt dropped out of school at the age of 17 to serve in World War I.”(1) After Walt returned from overseas, he went for an apprenticeship as an illustrator. Not long after that, Walt had his own shop with Ub Iwerk. Ub Iwerk was an American animator, cartoonist, character designer, inventor, and special effect artist. Birtanica says “Ub was one of the main reasons that Walt was so successful”(4), Ub was the first person to draw Mickey Mouse. Walt's first success came with the creation of Mickey Mouse in Steamboat Willie on November 18, 1928. Not long after Ub and Walt got in a disagreement about production which resulted in them making their own business. Walt started his road to Hollywood with his brother, Roy Disney. Walt Disney's wife, Lillian Disney, was the one that gave Mickey Mouse his name. Lillian was a secretary at Disney when Walt first started to feel interested in her. They got married when he was 24 and she was 26. Walt and Lillian had two children, Diane and Sharon. 

Even though walts road to this point was rough, Walt Disney was inspired by his college art class and he changed his major into business. One of the biggest things that inspired Walt Disney was his small town that he grew up in. Mickey Mouse was one of the first Mice that Walt Disney drew. Mortimer Mouse was the first name of Mickey Mouse. Lillian Disney was the one that was named. Mickey Mouse was inspired by a little mouse that was at Walts workplace. Walt would take it back outside and it would just keep coming back, Walt named the mouse Mickey Mouse. 

With all of this booming, Walt Disney’s produces imaginations, positive and a protective energy when you go under that big blue banner. Some people even call it the happiest place on earth. Walt Disney produced films and cartoon characters that are for adults and children. Mickey Mouse is the most common cartoon known to little kids still today even though Mickey Mouse first came out in 1928.The current owner of Disneyland,walt disney company says ” Bob Chapek, has been the CEO of disney”(x) for about two years now. None of the Walt Disney kids ever owned Disneyworld. The girls did own stock in the company. Most people do not know that while Walt was alive he had an apartment above the fire station on main street. Now, They give tours to people that have an annual pass, are a part of the disney vacation club, oris you are a disney pass holder.

Do you know how much Walt has impacted our lives today? Walt Disney created an atmosphere of positivity and protection, It has inspired people in the career path people have made. It has taught little kids and inspired them to be able to do whatever they put their mind to. Walt Disney didn't grow up amazingly which should show that even when you don't come from much you can make a lot out of it. Therefore, be inspired to create amazing things that you will love and may one day inspire others to do amazing things.
