By having heart disease patients and families are always in need of having resources to help one with dealing with the disease and coping with the disease process. A major organization that’s popular known that has a support group is the American Heart Association. Its’ a national nonprofit, voluntary health agency funded by private contributions. This organization is dedicated to the reduction of death and disability for individuals with cardiovascular disease. The organization has resources available for families and caregivers to help patients with heart disease. On their website, it has a chat area where everyone can write to one another about different topics or just express how their feeling. It’s an area for caregivers as well on this website. Being a caregiver comes with a major amount of stress in someone’s life especially when a disease comes about quickly and can progress quickly. Within the website, it educates and engages patients with interactive tools, educational materials, and other resources.  To join their association, it’s as little as $84 yearly. AHA help the communities with their AHA social impact fund they must help communities that have been affected by health inequities. Typically, yearly this association does a heart walk in support of patients and families with heart disease. I participated in a walk/run one year with a group of friends. They have many tents and different organizations set up at the event to get individuals incorporated within their organization. Within this organization, it’s known for its CPR training classes. 

The center for disease control, CDC, offers resources for patients with heart diseases offer resources for patients and families. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is the national public health agency of the United States. It is a United States federal agency, under the Department of Health and Human Services, and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia ("Heart Disease | cdc.gov", 2021).  On their website, they have different information to inform individuals about the diseases, knowing the risk, about prevention, and more information about resources for health professionals. 

Within their website it’s offered about other resources and events that’s going on for the month and little quizzes for one to do to learn about the disease more while enjoying doing a quiz or puzzles. This organization post podcasts an individual can listen to CDC podcasts for reliable health and safety information when and where they want it. The organization talks about public health programs that are available for families and patients. A few programs are called Wisewoman, Building GIS Capacity for Chronic Disease Surveillance, Paul Coverdell National Acute Stroke Program, Sodium Reduction in Communities Program, Prevention and Management of Diabetes, Heart Disease, and Stroke ("Heart Disease | cdc.gov", 2021).  How patients can get in contact with this organization will be by online, phone. This is a free organization and free to the public for information. 

After researching I found a foundation called the Health Well Foundation. The Health Well Foundation is a leading non-profit dedicated to improving access to care for America’s underinsured. A non-profit organization that is providing financial assistance to adults and children to cover the cost of prescription drug coinsurance, copayments, deductibles, health insurance premiums, and other selected out-of-pocket health care costs. The foundation has been around since 2004. Health Well is governed by an independent Board of Directors that includes professionals in the fields of health care administration, clinical practice and research, direct patient care, patient advocacy, and health law (Patients, 2021). Its mission is to reduce financial barriers to care for underinsured patients with chronic or life-altering diseases (Patients, 2021). While their vision is to ensure that no patient goes without health care because they cannot afford it (Patients, 2021). 

In 2020, Health Well awarded more than $650 million in grants. There are numerous ways one can get affiliated with this foundation. Patients can get in contact with this foundation by phone, email, online by setting up a patient portal. Within the website, there are frequently asked questions to help individuals understand if they are eligible to be helped with assistance and if they meet the required guidelines. Patients can apply for a grant online or through Health Well’s toll-free automated phone system, where we assist more than 44,000 callers a month (Patients, 2021). This organization receives donations from individuals and corporations and organizations. 

An individual having a disease will need beneficial resources to help one maintain a great quality of life. These were three major organizations that are for families and patients who have heart disease to help ease patients' mind and help them cope and make life easier on them.
