Did you know that about 46 percent of U.S civilians alone have been accounted for owning firearms? Crazy right, well they have a reason gun owners have killed twice as many criminals as police have each year and the gap grows further. Some might rely on gun control but it is a real problem when criminals will still have access to guns through the black market  making you leave the house 10 times scarier. There are other alternatives like a training license where you would be properly educated to use and handle a firearm. Lasty , you would never bring a knife to a gunfight, upping the stakes for home intruders and  threatening them more than it does to you.

In the current climate of the world, some might say that guns kill people but people kill people, and we can’t fix that with gun control. While gun ownership doubled during the twentieth century, the murder rate declined. Showing that guns protect us from domestic invaders and up the ante for the people who  rob our house. Studies show that gun owners feel 43 percent safer than non-gun owners. Some might proclaim that states should have significantly higher crime rates if 50 percent of households own fire-arms but it's quite the opposite. Thankfully, data provided by the Center of Disease stated that “Those states ranked in the top half of all states for having the lowest homicide rates.”Meaning that people are safer with their guns then they are  unaccompanied by them.

Bringing my next argument to the table, gun safety should be a priority in the U.S. Many people who own guns use them without training or even a license. That’s a main reason why people use guns inappropriately. To solve this problem they should construct a requirement to have a gun training class. This could help tons of people who are learning how to use it properly for protection. We also believe that they should increase the age where it’s legal to own a gun. The prevention institution says that we are better off “Reducing firearm access to youth and individuals who are at risk of harming themselves or others.”We can concluded when this is in action at this moment with a study in 2015 with states requiring gun like experienced about 68% lower suicide rates compared to states who don’t have this mandate. Our country as a whole should oblige a law so these guns don’t end up in the wrong hands like people who have been convicted with lethal charges. Some might say an easier way to do this is with gun control but they're quite wrong. Instead they should make a longer jail sentence if the gun is used inappropriately ; so someone would consider another choice before doing something unfortunate.

Self protection is key when it comes to keeping others and yourself safe. When it comes to using a firearm, you can’t be much safer than that. According to onlinetexasltc.com, “Guns are a necessary tool in a violent world. They provide a sort of shield from muggings, home invasions, terrorist incidents, and mass shootings.” This explains how guns can protect people in multiple ways. Secondly, proper training is an extremely important asset when it comes to using one. With the proper training almost anyone can use one safely. Onlinetexasltc.com clearly states, “Depending on the models, guns have easy-to-learn loading and firing techniques as well as clearly defined safety protocols.” We never have to use gun control when there is an easier and more dependable way to combat gun brutality. Lastly if you saw someone hold a gun what would you feel? Intimidated right? Guns are a symbol of fear when you're standing in front of it. “Criminals prey on the easiest victims to take advantage of, so they hesitate to confront people who are armed and able to protect themselves.” You are less likely to be a victim if you're the one with the trigger.

People give guns a bad rap but they are the same things that save millions each and every year yet others find measly details to criticize the person who is behind the gun. Yet it is the non-animate objects that take the blame for others' bad decision making which leads people to believe  that gun control will really work. George Washington once said that “When the government takes away citizens’ right to bear arms it becomes citizens’ duty to take away government’s right to govern.” If citizens can’t have guns then who should?
