Being independent is an extremely good thing in which it prepares people for their future. It is evident that some students move out for their colleges and live either on-campus or off-campus. There are two distinct differences to be considered between living on-campus and living off-campus: mental health and responsibility. 

One major difference between living on-campus and living off-campus is mental health. Being healthy mentally is a significant factor to be considered which can impact your performance throughout the day. Living on-campus may cause health issues such as homesickness which can lead to depression. Subsequently, gaining bad grades and a lack of concentration. In contrast, living off-campus could be the opposite, in which students might be supported by their parents morally. Living off-campus might not be the best option for young students. 

Another major difference between living on-campus and living off- campus is responsibility. Students are required to develop their skills of being responsible as they grow up to be prepared for the future. In this perspective living on-campus assist students to achieve the goal of being an unreliable person. On the other hand, living off-campus may not help students to be independent because of the reliance on parents in their daily life tasks. 

In conclusion, there are many divergences between living on-campus and living off-campus. Despite how easy living off-campus has become, taking the time to consider the situation and circumstances is worth it to have a better academic life experience. It is evident that students should choose the best option for them depending on their mental health and the amount of responsibility they can take and not only based on their favored way of living.
