Technology, these days, has transformed today’s society tremendously. In the past, the opportunity to use electronics in schools was not obtained. The use of technology has developed over time and many people rely on their electronic devices for everyday tasks. Ever since humans created all the technology devices that we use every day, it has made everything easier for the people that are blessed to get these smart devices. There are many benefits that come from using our phones and computers. Although technology is a distraction for students to use in class, it is a phenomenal tool for learning information more efficiently.

Because of the endless uses of technology, students face many temptations that disrupt their quality of learning the information. Students have a hard time paying attention in class because they get distracted by the uses of technology (“Managing Devices in the Classroom”). The technology is a distraction to most students and teachers have found that students learn better using pen and paper. Students who typically text take lower quality notes causing them to do worse on tests and quizzes (“Devices in the Classroom”). Studies have showed that students learn better writing their notes rather than typing the notes because they understand it more. The access to technology encourages multitasking, which does not keep students paying attention and engaged (“Managing Mobile Devices in the Classroom”). These computers have different software that allow students to go on other websites while taking notes in class causing them to miss important information. The laptops create a barrier between the teacher and students so the teacher cannot see what students are doing on their devices (“Managing Mobile Devices in the Classroom”). Although technology is such a wonderful tool to use, it can be a bit of a problem sometimes.

The use of technology in classrooms has transcended to a new level that helps students learn more effectively in many ways. Technology allows us to take notes and organize material quicker and more efficiently (“Managing Mobile Devices in the Classroom”). Computers can organize all of the notes and lessons into a much easier and simpler way to study and learn. Laptops can be used for web resources and information (“Managing Mobile Devices in the Classroom”). The access to all of the websites on google gives students dependable and accurate information that they can use in their research and studies. Students can collaborate and work together online (“Devices in the Classroom”). Working together with other students makes learning more fun and these devices make it easier to collaborate on research. Students that only speak certain languages can learn more using specialized software that translates ((“Managing Mobile Devices in the Classroom”). Students with dyslexia, ADHD, or visual impairments use computers to take notes and get higher education with their disabilities (“Devices in the Classroom”). Technology makes learning so much easier and has developed so many uses that are very convenient.

Electronic devices can positively impact students’ education, even though they can be tempted by distractions. Technology being used in class has greatly changed the level of education that students have at their convenience. Students can get off task using these devices because of their multitasking capabilities. Technology, however, benefits students because they can use them to find more effective ways of learning.
