The Greek Creation Myth is a short story that explains their values and the things they like to do. It talks about their leader Zeus and some of the things that he has done. The myth is only 7 paragraphs long.

In the myth, they talk about things that they enjoy doing that many people wouldn’t know about if they didn’t read the myth. They also talked about the order that things on earth came into existence. The Greeks valued many things but one specific thing they valued the most was being powerful and in charge. During this time they thought the earth didn't have enough animals and humans and their God Zeus summoned his sons Prometheus and Epimetheus and told them to go to earth and make humans and animals. Prometheus was in charge of humans while Epimetheus was in charge of the animals. In the myth, something bad happened when he went to see what gift to give the man Epimetheus informed him that he had foolishly used all the gifts. Prometheus was not happy about this and decided to give man fire even though the gods were the only ones who were supposed to have access to fire. When Zeus found out about this he was angry and ordered his son to be chained to a mountain and wanted vultures to peck out his liver every day until he died. The God's relationship with humans wasn't good after what had happened.

The myth took place a long time ago but In the Greek creation myth there could be a few themes but the themes that fit best are dominance and violence. The Greeks are violent in this and like to be in control so they will do whatever it takes to make sure they are the leaders which is why Zeus chained his son to a mountain and left him there to die. They are competitive with each other and they all want to be the ones in control. Some of the Greek gods abused their powers which led to them being killed by Zeus. Abusing their power leads to more issues with each other some of them would dislike each other and try to one-up someone else. The Greeks believed there was a time of nothingness besides a god called Chaos who was the first Greek God. They believed he was a carless god who lived in a dark chaotic void. The Greeks also believed there was no solid land like there is today when Chaos was around meaning that there were no rivers, oceans, trees, sun, moon, and no fresh air to breathe.
