Theme of Choices in Tears of a Tiger by Sharon Draper Essay Sample

Does the choices we make impact our lives and other people's lives? Without a doubt, the choices we make affect our lives and the lives of others. The idea of choices is explored in the novel, tears of a Tiger, by Sharon Draper. The main character, Andy, struggles with the choice he made to drink and drive. This choice killed his best friend Robbie and his friends still struggling from the car accident. In the end, Andy commits suicide because of his mental health issues and his parent's treatment for him. Like Andy, I have experienced a time when choices I have made have impacted my life and those around me. Both the main character, Andy  and my own personal experience suggests that sometimes in life, people don't realize that their choices may might  impact them for a long time. They might also realize that their choices can impact others lives.

Initially, Andy's character recommends the choices we make can impact our lives. In this scene, He’s so out of it sometimes that he wonder if he even knows what day it is. Andy is depressed and out of it. The choices he is making and the choice he made is impacting his entire life and also, others lives. He is unable to cope with life. Andy is always thinking about Robbie. Sometimes we will struggle with the choices we made.  We need to face our choices and deal with them,  doesn’t want to get out of bed. Our choices can impact our mental health. Sometimes we don’t realize our choices may impact ourselves or others negatively. Andy is having a hard time adjusting to the accident he did. The choices we make can affect us for a long time. Throughout  Andy character, he didn’t realize that choices he made might impact his lives, The author suggest that sometimes we don’t realize our choices may impact ourselves or others people negatively

Like, Andy's the main character, I have experienced a time when choices have impacted my life. An example is I choose to buy school stuff on September at 4:30 pm. Without a doubt, when we came back, my father hit another car very hard, and it was a big accident. So, at that time I realized how choices can impact other people's live, not just my life because if I don't force my father to go we won't do the car accident. Like Andy, The main character, he decides to drink and drive which ended up killing his friend by a car accident. He kept, feeling guilty, until he  decided to catch up to Robbie. People have to realize that a choice they make might impact their lives and other people's lives too.

Both Andy, the main character, and my own experience shows that how the choices people make affects their lives and other people's lives too. As I said, the main character Andy is having a hard time adjusting to his new life without his friend, but he couldn't do it, Andy commits suicide. It shows us how the choices we make can impact us for the long haul. Therefore, we have to realize and think before we choose our own destiny and the fate of others we love.
