Admission Essay Example: Macromedia University of Applied Sciences

It is with immense pride that I am writing to you, after completing my application and admission process for the Master of Arts in Design Management program at the Macromedia University of Applied Sciences in Munich. The program begins on October 1, 2022, divided into four semesters for of 2 years. Additionally, I am pleased to say that towards the end of my admissions interview, the Head of Studies, Prof. Oliver Szasz, declared that I represent the type of student the faculty wanted to enroll. He considered me well-prepared for the study program given my academic record and professional background as a capable designer and committed educator. I hope this testimonial is evidence of why I present an ideal candidate for the scholarship.

I graduated from the Applied Science Private University, Jordan with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design. I set my career path at age 23 when I joined the Faculty of Digital Arts program at the New York Institute of Technology, Jordan, and later the School of Audio Engineering SAE Institute, Jordan. With over 15 years of multidisciplinary experience in design development, consultation, and education I have successfully taught a broad range of classes and seminars, including Branding and Corporate Identity, Project Design Implementation and Evaluation, Visual Communication, Advertising Campaigns, Social Media Marketing, Drawing, Research, and Communication through Art and Design. Since then, I have devoted myself to extensive training and research at renowned design schools including the UAL London College of Fashion, London, Polimoda Fashion School, Florence, and NABA Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Italy. In that respect I completed training in Fashion Design, Intensive Footwear Design, and Fashion Marketing. My constant research and updates in the field have benefited not only my practice as a designer but also my approach to education.

As a design professional, I have developed a deep understanding and appreciation of the intricacies involved in building projects across multiple industries and mediums. As a graduate student, I will leverage my experience using innovative technologies, to find user-orientated and creative solutions for products and services. The Master’s in Design Management generates leaders looking to establish systems and provide services that respond to the restructuring of economics worldwide; in addition to identifying key issues and taking effective action by dividing issues into sections. The accredited M.A. in Design Management, according to German higher education law, offers me the best employment opportunities. I can directly apply the knowledge and experience to my future roles as a faculty member and/or strategic organizational leader. Effectively integrating academia and industry, promoting, and expanding the results of research collaborations, for example through company-financed research at universities and internships. Macromedia’s prominent cooperation partners include Airbus, BSH, SAP, and Munich Tourism, amongst others; moreover, each faculty member maintains a vast network of related partner companies which are valuable contacts for my professional future. It provides opportunities to turn theory into practice in a progressive culture of forward thinkers. I see design management as a mindset, a driving force for change, and I am looking to become a leader and a change-maker to help predict future workable solutions in cultures and corporations.

I am determined to study at Macromedia University, Munich. Nevertheless, I recommend myself for this scholarship because recent financial difficulties hinder my opportunity to take part in higher education; I additionally benefit from reductions in tuition fees.
