YouTube is better than school because you can find updated information, most of the time it’s explained in more easy to understand and interesting ways and you can explore your interests, you can be flexible.

You can find updated information - in school you are basically learning the things written in your books. Even if the information in there is valid, it might not be the newest. Everything changes over time so you might not put in use what you have learned in school when you find a job. People are constantly posting new videos on YouTube so it’s better to use YouTube sometimes. 

It’s explained in more easy to understand and interesting ways - many people outside of the English speaking countries use YouTube to learn English. In school you are learning the “proper” English that you won’t use on a daily basis if you want to sound like a native speaker. Also it’s easier to learn a language by watching videos in that language. 

You can explore your interests - in school you are forced to learn things that you might not be interested in while on YouTube you can find information about whatever you want. In school the level might be too low for you, too. Teachers usually repeat the things you are learning, just because some of the people in the class didn’t understand. On YouTube you can learn new things if you already know the things you are learning in school.

Flexibility - in school you need to be sitting in the classroom until the class finishes. 

Especially if it’s your first class of the day, it’s difficult to pay attention. On YouTube you can start watching something and you can finish it later if you get bored or have something else to do. 

Mindset - it’s about mindset too. When you know it’s for school, you are probably not as motivated to learn, because you automatically think it’s hard and boring.
